So, which releases are you waiting for in 2008?

We've got a tradition of doing threads like this at Muusikoiden.net and then comparing these lists we post at the end of the year and see how our expectations were filled :) Of course you can't know all the albums that will come out next year, so we only compare albums we listed here and not all the releases.

Anyways, here it goes:
Arcana - Raspail (hopefully Peter can continue his strong line of albums)

Bloodbath - EP (can't wait for it, should be kickass)

Evergrey (long delayed, but what I've heard so far hints towards a more ISOT-like album)

Hanzel und Gretyl (hopefully they can work on a bunch more kickass songs in the style of Fikk Dich Mit Feuer)

Ice Ages - Buried Silence (after a long wait, should be incredible and dark!)

Judas Priest - Nostradamus (AOR (the irony..) was kickass and hopefully this album will provide more!)

Meshuggah - ObZen (back to DEI-like stuff I believe, and should prove fun to hear fast stuff once more)

Metallica (well, my expectations are very low, but let's see)

Opeth (hopefully it's a bit more like Still Life)

Rotten Sound - Cycles (I hope it's a bit more clearer soundwise than CTC - but it can only be kickass ;) )

Scar Symmetry (ahh, the waiting gets on me!)

Stam1na (hopefully it's more like the debut album)

Testament - The Formation of Damnation (well, the new song sounds decent, but I hope there's better songs too)

The Amenta - n0n (the most awaited album, personally. Could be a new legendary classic album in the works!)

Mostly.

Also

Textures - started recording of their new album, will kick arse, I'm sure.

Scarve was talking some time ago about reissue of "Translucence", hope this will be this year :)

Tesseract - "Concealing fate" EP somewhere in spring.

and hopefully Periphery's EP.

Postal the movie in English. For CD releases, just Zimmer's Hole; and probably the second half of Year Zero by NIN if it comes out next year.

Evergrey's new album is sounding like it is going to be pretty damn tasty. The stuff they've posted on their video blog is amazing. Other than that, Eric Johnson is back in the studio again, and so are Extreme, so those two definitely have me giddy with child-like glee.

And of course the Dev's new opus! :string:

All I can think of right now:

Ayreon - 01011001
Frost* - whatever it's going to be called

Those two alone should make my next year a lot of fun.

Ayreon has leaked.
As has the new Mars Volta.

Heaven Shall Burn has, and Amenti, too.

And Biomechanical.

Opeth, Ayreon, The Gathering, and Steve Wilson solo album. Should be a pretty good year for music.
