I'm sick of Postal strikes. I don't care what these people want or how afraid these people are of change. It's an easy job, and they fail to appreciate their companies generosity for not kicking everyone out and hiring new people that will actually do the work they are assigned to do.

They're like a bomb, you lightly touch it and BOOM, no more post for you =P. Except, they plan to make this one go on for about two weeks or so, instead of the day long strikes they had before.

Screw you posties! I want my Nintendo DS Lite!

The Post Office in the UK is dying. There's a real simple way to stop them striking and finish them off. The Monarchy withdraws its endorsement.

Their whole thing is "We're The Royal Mail". Take away the Queen's endorsement and couriers can come in and take over the market. It seriously wouldn't take much for an already established company to take over the postal service, and it would deffinitely work if it was then backed Royally.

Agreed. If the Royal Mail continue on in this fashion, should they do so instead of bringing an end to this useless charade, they will surely lose the queen's favour anyway, and thus become the not so Royal Mail.

Personally, I think the sooner we get a new leading mail delivery service the better, but while Labour is in power and while CWU supports and is supported by them, it's doubtful that it will happen all that quickly =[.

What exactly is the problem, why are they striking? (Mildly important for me to form an opinion).

They fear the changes that need to be made to modernise the business. The competition have started to show the Royal Mail how to do it and they need to modernise to keep up.

I heard one postman complaining that just because he was good at his job he would be punished. But he was paid to work say 5am to 1pm but because he could finish his round by about 11pm he would go home early! The bosses want them to do some other tasks in those last 2 hours. Doesn't sound like too much to ask to me.

I am sure there is much more to it, but its delaying my CD deliveries so grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

I ordered a Synchestra hoodie from HDR around Jan/Feb/Mar last year. Had to contact Tracy about it not arriving, and I think the last big postal strike was to blame.

I've ordered Jesu - Pale Sketches this time, and there's only 2000 copies of it.

If it doesn't arrive, I'm going to go on a different type of postal strike.

Actually, my DS is coming from Hong Kong, so it's quite possible that the strike will be over by the time it actually gets here anyway and thus suffer no delay, unless of course they do actually go on for the promised two weeks =[.

Too bad Biert doesn't like movies. Theres a Postal movie coming out next month in selected theatres. (Yes, based off the game series)

The only thing Uwe Boll should be allowed to do is play in traffic on the autobahn.
