This movie was too good for the movie thread! I command you to see it! Not ONLY because it was the greatest fucking action movie of my life, but Strapping Young Lad is in it. NOT JUST THEIR MUSIC MAN! The band!! As in Devin, and has gnarly skullet. The zen video plays at one point!

I dont even think the band knows. The scene called for some sort of metal video to be playing. They probably called Century Media, and asked for any metal video, and they gave them Strapping.

Did some research. Looks like a pretty shitty movie

"A man named Mr. Smith (Owen) delivers a woman's baby during a shootout, and is then called upon to protect the newborn from the army of gunmen."

Also, is Strapping IN IT, or just the Zen video? You said they were, and that the Zen video plays a bit eventually, then you said..err..I'm confused. Please clarify

Sorry I was really confused. The bands not really in it, but the Zen video is. And I loved the movie by the way. If you're looking for an action movie with no perfect plot and just action, this is it.

Shitty movie?
There's bullets, beautiful women ... and Paul Giamatti. That sounds like an awesome combination.

I saw the movie, and I was pretty surprised when Mr. Smith was channel surfing and found the Zen video. It's especially funny because when the baby listens to it, he stops crying, haha. And he switches back and forth between that and some politician talking to test the baby. Heh, good shit, good shit.

The rest of the movie is pretty damn awesome as well. A totally mindless action movie with hilarity AND badassness.

But yeah, I wonder if Devy knows about this.

The plot isn't something you need to worry about. To give you an example of how awesome this movie was, I went into the theater with a hamburger saying "I'll only take a bite every time someone is shot". 2 minutes in, and my mouth is full of hamburger, and I cant keep up with the film.

This movie looks ridiculous. If you thought Transporter 2 looked a bit over the top with the action sequences, this movie makes Transporter 2 look stop/start claymation.

Isn't the point here to be ridiculous? i thought it was an action movie that is basically a parody of the genre?

I don't know if it's a full-on parody, but I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to be taken seriously. Hell, I'm full-on CERTAIN that it's not supposed to be taken seriously.

So if you're up to it, just give it a chance and leave your brain at the door if you have to. You likely won't regret it!

It's over-the-top on purpose, like Crank.

Sex, violence, heavy metal, carrots, and one liners that rival those of Bruce Campbell. What an awesome fucking movie.
