A Swedish man is to receive sickness benefits for his addiction to heavy metal music.
The lifestyle of 42-year-old dishwasher Roger Tullgren from Hässleholm in southern Sweden has been classified as a disability by the Swedish Employment Service, which has agreed to pay part of Tullgren's salary, and his new boss has given him special dispensation to play loud music at work.
Hardcore! I see start of new trend from here - they should provide cozy, isolated rooms with Mesa/Boogie stacks to rock out in work hours. In every factory and office. I BELIEVE IN YOU, SWEDEN.

Yeah, I heard about this on another forum... Not sure what to think of it, really.

I think I just diagnosed myself with sexitus. I need my employer to give me lots and lots of sex at work. It's only fair.

What a douche bag. I hate people like this who give metal a bad name and make us out to be low life idiots.

I'd assume it has something to do with a mental disability like Asperger's but it sounds funnier if you say he was diagnosed with METAL.

I thought this was going to be about Heavy Metal Toxicity, like lead poisoning.

Like someone said, it's probably something in the field of Asperger's syndrome.
I'm from Sweden and this was actually in a few papers and on the news. The headline would say something fun like the one on this subject, but the interviews were pretty serious. The guy actually had problem functioning normal without listening to metal music. If you look at the interview clips it is pretty obvious that the guy isn't totally normal.
It's all very very weird.

And yesterday I read about a woman (in the paper Aftonbladet) who also got some social benefits...I think it was for her shopping debts. I'd better start doing something wrong, it seems to pay of more

Could you please link us to such clips?
