Fuckin fantastic band. Deathspell Omega is one of the few real black metal bands who manages to interest both purists and those who seek challenging black metal with tons of nuances.
New album coming out soon:
DEATHSPELL OMEGA- 'Fas- Ite, Maledicti, in Ignem Aeternum' will be out by the end of June.
The release will be a digipack with a 20 page booklet.
There are 6 tracks and the album is around 45 minutes in length.
This will be something huge.

I like the Kenose albums. All that I've heard.

I have wanted to check them out for a while...they are from France, right? Is there an mp3 sample somewhere?

Quite a special band within the black metal scene though personally I prefer some other bands within that particular style of black metal. I haven't gotten around to check out everything with them yet though.
EphelDuath666, as for mp3's. I only found some myspace fansite :

These samples sound like typical tr00 BM to me, with badly recorded blast beats (actually, badly recorded everything) and tremolo tormented guitars. Expected something more original. Maybe other stuff is better.
Or maybe I should just fuck off.

Those songs are from the first two albums who are not nearly as great as Si Monumentum Requires, Circumspice and everything they've done since. You can't really compare those albums with what they're doing now. It's like judging SYL by HAARHT alone.

Haha I heard the first 10 seconds of both songs and they're identical

Just one sounds bad and the other sounds even worse.

Hehe, well Myspace makes it sound a bit worse than it is actually. But as Acrid said, later work is different. It's kind of hard to explain but for many there is more depth in their lyrics and music compared to many other bands within that particular genre.

Yeah they've actually got like interesting riffs and melodies, which is more than what you can say about a lot of BM. I'm not really a fan of the vocals but everything else about them kicks ass.

OK just curious, but how could you possible not have found this MySpace page:
http://www.myspace.com/deathspellomega
(Not that it's very useful but it seems official). Searching for "Deathspell Omega" on MySpace Music brings up loads of pages, with songs.

I only took a quick look on Wikipedia and the links given there. Most people on here know how to search for things on the internet anyway. So I assumed that I didn't need to devote a lot of time to dig up information like this
