DTB = Life imitating Art

I think you'll find that:
DTB + SYL = GOD
Assuming that DTB is inversely proportional to SYL (in other words):
SYL = 1/DTB or
DTB = 1/SYL
We can remove one variable so that: 1/SYL + SYL = GOD
We say that GOD is infinite.
1/SYL + SYL = infinity
We can say: (infinity) - (1/SYL) = infinity
Therefore we have reached two conculsions: SYL = INFINITY
& MATHS = SHIT

I totally love DTB. SYL is a nice bonus. More like a side-dish to the main course that is DTB.

2 sides? Nay, my friend, there's a multiverse in that one man. Infinity is NOT to Ocean Machine is NOT to Punky Bruster is NOT to City...see where I am going with this? I tend to think of each album as a branching off or evolution of the one that came before it. Sometimes, it skips a "generation". 2 Dimensions just aren't enough to describe Dev's music. What's really cool is how he ingests the skills and talents of the people that are involved with a certain project, and then spews forth something from which the parts could not have done on their own. SYL is a juggernaut not because of Dev alone, but because Dev knows very well what each member is capable of doing IN SYL. Same for DTB, and everything else. Probably why he is such a good producer. (I still maintain that the work he did on December's "The Lament Configuration" was lightyears beyond what the previous records were.) I know, blah de blah.

Ah Devin's music in general is to good to set one side over the other. Yin and Yan of heavy metal folks. So either way its a win, win situation with his music.....for me that is.

I love the whole yin/yan of SYL/DTB. I'm grateful that Devin is versatile and giften enought to front 2 entirely different bands.
