If Dev is your #1, who is number 2?

Im sure a lot of you have Devs music down as your fave whether its the DTB or Strapping. Just wondering who is the songwriter at #2 for you?

In second place, it has to be G from Ulver/Head Control System. Amazing vocalist who has a unique songwriting ability.


If Dev is not your#1 then I will do a plop on your head. :lol:

Tough call, but Devin's in my top 5. Up there with him are Iron Maiden (especially the Harris/Smith/Dickinson combination), Greg Graffin and Brett Gurewitz of Bad Religion, Opeth's Mikael Akerfeld, Faith No More, Killing Joke, Björn & Benny from ABBA,... :wink:

(And yes, 20 years ago Hetfield/Ulrich/Burton/Hammet would have been up there, too.)

I guess a fair answer to this tough question would be Opeth, though its a close call with Porcupine Tree also up there.

Other than Dev/SYL, the only bands I have actively pursued are P.T, Opeth, Apocalyptica and Meshuggah.

Mike Patton, Dev, and Jennifer Charles really all combine to make up my top one (each combines one of three major elements, Patton - versatility, Devin - intensity, and Jennifer Charles - sexiness).

Outside of that there are vocalists that are still great to me, but they kind of mesh together a little bit more.
