Yeah, glaring example of uninspired music for me. I wonder what makes them that famous.

I actually quite like that song ('Bittersweet'). I think the contrast between Ville Vallo's deep vocals and Mr Rasmus's higher pitch is used very well. Definately one of the better Apocalyptica songs with vocals.

On the subjet of the Rasmus...I think that their recent popularity has done them little favours. What was the single that was huge? 'The Shadows'? Something like that. Anyway, I think it is a shame that when they are on their 3rd (I think) album that they get bashed in this way. Certainly they are more towards the pop-rock side of things than metal, but I dont think they deserve to be treated so badly.

Anyway, I dont know what I am talking about. I think that I would need to hear more before I could ever judge them.

And it is clear why they are famous: The singer keeps a crow's nest in his head.

I think the Rasmus had a very good pop song with 'In The Shadows', but that's where it ends.

Obviously the metal community turned it's nose up in disgust because it was:

1. Catchy.
2. Popular.

Exactly.

From my brief research it appears they have been around for a longer time than 3 albums. Though, surprisingly, they werent to be found on the Metal Archives website.

I think it is wrong they were ever marketed towards the metal audience anyway. Kerrang maybe.

I hate the rasmus and especially their newest album but there is a time before "in the shadows" and the swedish manager.
Some of their earlier music is actually pretty individual(I hope that's the right word) but after the swedish manager, rasmus got amazingly gay.
