I was first introduced to Devin Townsend by a friend with the Ziltoid The Omniscient album. While listening, I was stuck in an "O" face and subsequently yelled, "You must give this to me" at him. Fast forward a couple of years, and I hear that Deconstruction and Ghost are coming out, so I listen to them, and fall into a pit (inverse mountain?) of admiration. I listened to Ki and Addicted(!) a little later. Ghost has a stamp of approval from my organ-playing, classical musician parents.
Now that I've found a 7-string guitar, I've started to learn the Ziltoid album for practice and my own personal enjoyment. So far, it has been a lot of fun and By Your Command is refreshingly challenging with those nasty scales. Nasty I say!
I came here to observe a little more closely because I'm not able to make it for the October tour.
Hopefully another time will come.
