As the topic says, thinking of moving to ye olde Canada and starting anew. Just wondering if the Canadianish people can give me a few ideas about what jobs are like, how expensive it can be, that sort of thing.

Pretty damn good behind a bar! Not much in the way of professional qualifications, but have experience in lots of things. Anything education wise would be moot anyway as they wouldn't be counted due to them being from another country.

If you go onto the Canadian Consulate website there is whole load of stuff about applying for immigration into Canada. Academic and professional qualifications do get you points, and being a keyworker - medical profession etc is good as well, but from memory various construction trades are in there too. Fluency in French is a factor, depending where you want to go.
Its quite an involved process as I recall.

I'm also planning on jetting off to Canadia at the end of the year.

This type of deal looks like a student year out thing. No hopes of citizenship being young hand having so-so A-level grades. Over a year from finishing my Open Uni course.
Feel free to post any info you may find. I'm stumbling around blind.

I would love to move to Canada but unfortunately it shall never happen. I'm a photographer and that's not really a suitable qualification...

Unless you wanna be a roughneck and work the rigs till youre old crippled and ridden with arthritis dont move to alberta thats pretty much the only work out here if you dont have an education then you gotta get all these shit safety certificates and pay out of your own pocket to work here. The amount of people immigrating here is sickening; somali gangs like to re establish themselves once they get here to canada, awesome gang wars were having in my city edmonton right now murder capital of canada lallalawl.

Our immigration regulation right now is something to laugh at were letting uneducated emotionally scarred barbarians basically from the violent and poverty stricken life they had before they came here. Its awesome they come here to steal from the natives and shit on everything we built. I suppose its happening all over the world but its particularly bad in my city right now. were nicknamed stabmonton for a reason.

If you're coming here and have money then this is a paradise move to the okanogan valley to kelowna or something its a spectacle really some of the nicest land on this here planet earth

anyhoo i love my country its a good place just giving you the facts of my province not sure how it is in others :| anyhoo cheers mate if you do end up on moving to canuckland look me up well have a pint good sir

As for living expenses its not bad considering the minimum wage

I shouldnt give the rigs such a hard time my uncle went to work up in Ft. Macmurray (Northern Alberta) and made 500 grand in 2 years for sitting on his ass all day being a safety inspector. Something straight out of the Simpsons honestly hahaha. Its not all that easy though he had connections most of the immigrants that come up here to work get stuck to bitch labor and rarely make over 30 an hour still not bad considering i suppose.

I think old people move there.

Reminds me, my brother inlaw was telling me about his aunt and uncle who live out there, and about them going backwards camping.

It took me a very long time to realise he actually said back woods camping.
