I feel rather indignified over being insulted and not having a chance to respond to what was said. In response to octillus - I thought it was clear I was joking about you being a sheep. You are entitled to your opinions, but you do not have to participate in a discussion if you have anything valuable to add. And I don't claim to have any of life's big answers. That is why I was trying to spark some discussion. You can turn a blind eye to the things you don't want to see, or you can do some 'critical thinking' and try to understand the importance of the things that aren't in plain sight. If not for any other purpose, than for your own peace of mind. I guess people prefer the path of least resistance. Afterall, ignorance is bliss.

Also to octillus in regards to Deconstruction.. I've been listening to Devin for a while now and sure the DTP is what inspired me to come to the forums, however I wouldn't make a connection between what I've been saying and the "mental masturbatory" statement in Deconstruction. I felt Devin was making some statements with this project so I drew a few connections in the DTP forum, and continued with some different tangents here. You can't read an artists' mind and their personal opinions are not any more important or valid than anyone else. Those of you who kneel at the altar of celebrity may disagree.

Swervedriver, I was merely making some observational commentary on two of the most prominent female artists in mainstream music today. As for following the money, sometimes it is impossible to cover up a large financial transaction - such as funding in military operations and charitable donations.

Whatever though.. if it feels good do it, don't question authority, don't try to peak behind the curtains, don't try to analyze pieces of a puzzle (in different forms, some hard facts, some more circumstantial and empirical) when some of the pieces are missing.. unless of course, it's theoretical science, which of course, has enough basis to be accepted without having a finger pointed at you..

I guess the bottom line is that there are certain topics you can't even bring up without people getting defensive. I suspected open minded discussion here, not the typical 'this is insane, I'm shutting off my higher thinking and spitting out a typical one liner response (that I may have heard someone else use at some point) instead of risking having the foundation of my belief system shook by actually really looking into the credibility of any of this'. One day you may find the foundations swept away entirely.

Also HERDERRDERPDERRRR adds nothing to a discussion. Personally, I picture the person making that sound, slapping a limp wrist against their chest, and thinking how clever they are for regurgitating an internet meme. At least lettuce provided some insight into why he disagreed with my ideas.

Nah, Devin actually stated in several interviews that's what he was trying to say. If you draw your own interpretations from it, great! Art's awesome like that and I've certainly pulled my own conclusions which are separate from his from the music itself.

You have consistently insulted the intelligence of many of the members of this forum with your own diatribes, and if it were just me, I'd take it gladly (as I am a big goober) but it's not, and I have a duty to uphold in that respect. Por ejemplo, you're right now telling me that I'm turning a blind eye, or that other members have turned a blind eye. You don't know that, and you are certainly in the wrong forum for such a situation (okay, perhaps the most proper sub-forum within these boards themselves). I certainly left them open for a good stretch of time, and I have been willing to facilitate plenty of lines of your own ideas, if not always agreeing with them. You just started to cross a line and I chose to lock the topics than have them devolve into a direction that I've seen before.

Again, nothing wrong with the topics, but rather the insulting line of discussion that was contained within. If you wish to turn a blind eye to your own arrogance, that's your choice. I'm certainly not suggesting discipline other than a couple of locked topics (shortly followed by this one). Even now you're stating that some of us are worshiping at the altar of celebrity, which is a declarative and insulting statement, so do please tell me my and other members' opinions and outlooks, as it is clear we cannot find them without your divine leadership.

We have a PM system next time you want have a tiff over a moderator's decisions. Like in the past with other threads, just because I'm usually the one who pulls the trigger doesn't mean that this was a conclusion reached on my own.

Oh and finally, in regards to the herp de derp, I'm sorry that you're not part of this forum's culture yet. Yeah, it's a tired meme, as are most of the ones we beat like dead horses here, but sometimes self-importance does come across entirely as blathering meaningless noise. And if you want to get down to it, I believe that we cosmically as humans feel the need to herp and derp around to make sense of the world.
