That's a shame, and a bit ironic since it was International Record Store Day last Saturday (or so I heard on the radio).

Oh the irony was certainly bursting from the seams. We got drunk and threw stuff off of the roof.

Haha sound awesome.

I am a chef at TGI Fridays, a student of Anthropology and Archaeology and a Photographer/Graphic Designer. In that order sadly.

I want to be a Concert Photographer, dabbling in fine art nudes and landscapes, who occasionally writes a report or two for anthoprological circles, and might when cash runs a bit low, cook some awesome food for people :D In that order!

I'm a poet by study, so as job prospects go, I'm looking at rather slim pickings. I just find myself getting any job that will pay the bills to allow myself the freedom to pursue my creative side with suitable zeal when the time presents itself. I rarely judge someone by their job unless they see it as their desired profession, in which case I explore what this means to them as a person.

my "job" atm is being a recruit in the Royal Norwegian Air Force, but i dont think its gonna work any more, due to a bad case of pneumonia i've lost a lot of opportunities, so i'll be stuck with just shit stuff from now on, doing the crap jobs because i was sick when they did the physical tests. I'm gonna talk with someone high ranking about getting my service postponed or something, it's not fair that because i got sick, i'm just gonna be fucked.

Outside that, i've been both a truck mechanic and a welder, music is my passion though.

I'm a full-time student (Yay, criminal justice!), and part-time retail zombie. I hate my job, but at least it's a steady one. For now. (And I'm lucky, because I need the money. I crashed last week, and destroyed the front end of my car. Who knew Pontiacs were so flimsy?)

I'm an emergency department nurse (RN). This can be fascinating and interesting some days...and on others it can really test one's faith in human nature. It's hard to keep the cynical beast down on those days. I've been in the ER since 1995 - in nursing since 1990...sheesh, I'm an old fart, aren't I? I'm really hoping to move into spending more time in education - teaching nurses, that is. It's been a really interesting career, though, that has taken me from my hometown in eastern Canada (Halifax) to southern California by way of Texas.

Devin's music is - by FAR - the best way to unwind after work. I work mid shifts so everyone is usually asleep when I get home...so I can put on my headphones and just be absorbed into these incredible soundscapes until it's time to knock off.

Not that bad, really. I worked nights for a long time in the beginning and then switched to days. When I returned from maternity leave in 2005, I started doing mid shifts...and that's been nicer than I thought it would be. Our shifts are 12 hrs - but sometimes we get stuck there late. I was over an hour late getting out of work last night, for example. Due to some critical patients needing 1:1 care, there wasn't a free nurse available to take my patients so I could leave to go home. Not fun when that happens.

Yikes! That sounds rough - 12 hours? Wow, and I thought 4 hours a couple times a week was going to take getting used to :o

Oh I'm in Northern California. San Francisco area, the east bay.. not SF directly. You're in the far far south, eh? Hot there isn't it? 8)

I work for the government and can't say what I do, which sounds:

a) like I'm a spy, or
b) like I'm a wanker.

In reality I'm probably closer to b) than a).

I used to crawl around looking for things and talk to people about things they might be planning to do. Now I sit at a desk and process things. I like my new position better than my old one. Crawling and looking sounds cool, but sitting and typing is better.

I'm a full time student, during the school year I work/run the metal department at our student radio station (I don't get paid but the perks of it are worth it) and during the summer I work at a minor league baseball stadium in the parking lot (it's worse than you think).

Hah in Sev's threadcromancy it's kinda funny how things change in two years. I now work for three magazines and their websites, while doing whatever video stuff I can on the side. Hopefully in a week, those two will join forces, so I can stop renting my damn equipment.
