Seconded on the cheese.

These days I find PT to be really enjoyable and frustrating at the same time. The lyrics come across lame and his voice is kinda average but sometimes brilliant... And it seems like he's always playing the same chords. But the production is always such a treat to listen to, the music *sounds* so polished and is usually well written...I don't know what I'm trying to say but the new album seems to exemplify my feelings toward them pretty well... I really like listening to them but don't actually think theyre that good or something?

How about a possibility of the cheese being partly some kind of British dark sarcasm? As with some earlier PT stuff, I found myself amused and emotionally touched at the same time. The concept paints quite a credible picture of what modern-day alienation could be... nothing very new, but works well as always.

He's in a band, they sound like all jam
Their clothes are all black, the music is crap"

All jam? Pearl Jam!

Liking the new album so far...hasnt quite sunk in yet though. Going to see them play in Glasgow tonight. Rumour has it that they will play the whole thing from start to finish. Should be good!

Just got in from the show...I am very tired and have to get up at 6am, but I thought I would post here first (thats dedication for you).

Overall the performance was fantastic, as they have been in the past. The new songs (they played the whole of the new album) were the best of the set. The other songs they played were also good, of course, but the new stuff was especially mind blowing.

Sadly the projections were not up to scratch as they have been before, which was a shame. When I first saw PT nearly ever song had a whole movie to go along with it. Ack.

Set list was kind a bit like this:

Fear of a blank planet
Drown with me
Sever tomorrow
My Ashes
Anesthetize
Lightbulb sun
Blackest eyes
Open Car
Sentimental
Even less
Halo
Half light
Way out of here
Sleep together
Mother and child divided

I think I may have forgotten a few, and that wasnt the right order for sure. Good show!

Sleepy....

I'm listening to it a second time now and its actually good quality. It's pretty good, basically what you'd expect from PTree

I still think they're overrated as hell though >.<

That's awesome that they incorporated "new" old tracks from the back catalog rather than rehash the same old material.

How did "Drown with Me" sound live? The vocal harmonies in that song are among the best of SW.

Drown With Me was beautiful live, it worked really well. I am surprised they dont play it more often. SW said that some of the songs they were going to play had never been played live before, or not in a very long time. DWM may well have been one of them.

Half light was pretty nice too...but the mix of the sound made the vocal harmonies a bit awkward on this one. It was good, but just needed perfecting.

Oh, yeah you reminded me...they also played Gravity Eyelids! So it was quite a heavy set really.
