Addictive Drums is the program I use for my drums. It runs on a different kind of drum map though(not standard) and you have to download the corresponding map for your DAW. But I love it! It's so easy to use, it sounds great, and it's cheap! Cost me like 120 dollars.

Everything you need for your drums is right in the program, you can EQ and compress individual drums/cymbals and even give them their own reverb and distortion effects. The kick drum now has a distortion on it to bring out the higher end of it, instead of that boomy kick I had before (that sounded oddly good in my DAW on my mixing headphones...)

Ok I actually think my new short rendition of "Rational Gaze" is ready! I've finally got my drum sound for Addictive Drums! I'm so happy with it. This recording sounds HUGE. Bass is an octave below the F that my 8 string is in.

And I love the little leads I added just for shits and haha's

I heard there was actually something called "the brown note".....a note so low that it makes you shit your pants. Maybe Anthony could make a side project called "Shitter"....all low notes that make everyone in attendance spontaneously crap their pants!

I tried doing the bass at the same octave, but it just sounded thin. I think Meshuggah uses quite a few tracks for each guitar and the bass to get the sound they do. I only used 2 rhythm tracks and one bass track. Plus all my low tuned stuff, from "Perpetual Black Second" to my song "Black Hole" has bass an octave down. Bulb does that too btw.
