Nice bro, got any frames developed yet? I dig photography...when I'm not playing cheap Ibanez's

Oh no not yet. I just bought it off Amazon yesterday - it should be a week or two before I get it. Yeah I used to be a dark room fiend, but then got side tracked - trying to get back into it, you know? Do you mostly use digital or do you still use analog cameras as well... or both?!

I'm thinking sepia-toned photos of a gothic-esque cathedrals from a low point of perspective is where it's at. Lasse Hoile-style  (I wish)

Ha thanks for clearing that up - I probably wouldn't have corrected him

My apologies for calling you bro...Madam :)

Yeah I only use digital these days. I'm using a 400D ATM. Looking at a 5D in the very near future. Full frame :D

Sepia, nice, I can picture what you're thinking. Let us know how it goes then

No worries!
Digital is great, but I still have a soft spot for Analog. That's a model of Canon, yes? I actually had to google it, I don't know all the different models, and whatnot, all that well. Sounds great though, you can't go wrong with Canon, great product.

I'll let you know. I'll try and post a picture or two once I get the camera. :D

What do you expect when Mr T meets a chimp with a gun?

PS Glad to see you've both stopped throwing your toys out of the pram though.

I was kinda shocked they implemented HD (full-on 1920x1080 with sound) movies feature in 5D mark II. Year ago photographers laughed their asses off on the idea of DSLR with movie shooting ability.

Nine Inch Nails have some live clips recorded with it on vimeo:

http://www.vimeo.com/ninofficial

Vimeo's not exactly HD quality, but still it's quite impressive.

You have to wonder what they are up to marketing (tech) wise. It would be better to cram more photography related technology in there IMOH. Video cameras are for video's.

SLR and live view is another thing that puzzles me. From a tradition standpoint I suppose. I guess it has its uses:)

I just bought an EMG 81 and 60 to put in my evolving Frankensplorer, because, as any fule kno, THEY ARE THE BEST PICKUPS IN THE WORLD EVER - equally suitably for country, jazz, flamenco and Nu-age noodling.

(or because I am sucky Hetfield Fanboy numero uno, depending)

Wondering if I should get some EMGs for my new Schecter as well. They came with active Duncan pickups which in itself is great, but all my guitars sound the same now.

Bought a new year's worth subscription to Residents of a Blank Planet. Pre-sale tickets, free P-Tree shirt, Poster, and Live CD in digipak sometime in the future is too win to pass up.

Plus, I feel VIP and elite. 8)

Also thinking about buying Second Life Syndrome by Riverside? Anyone have any opinions on them? Amazon.com recommended them to me since I've bought Porcupine Tree and Opeth CD's through amazon. From the clips I've heard, they sound cool, no? :D

Also considering looking into Cynic. It seems some of you on here are nuts for them, but I've never really investigated them until now. I listened to Evolutionary Sleeper the other night and thought it was interesting. Any opinions on that?

Riverside are very good, I'd recommend them. I'd say they're similar to Porcupine Tree, Pain of Salvation. Just check out their pages on Last.fm and MySpace for an impression I guess.

Their frontman released a solo CD, Lunatic Soul, which is good too but more mellow.

Cynic is the shit. Focus (especially the remaster) and Traced in Air are both really good, though I might say TiA is more accessible if you're not used to the weirdness of Cynic. Also, a related act is Exivious, which is coming out with an album soon that threatens to be a beautifully unholy union of fusion, jazz, and metal.

This is truth.

Integral Birth is one of the coolest songs ever.

Yes! The artwork on Traced is seriously some of the best and most interesting I've seen in a long time. And I'm not really one to care about album art!
