Jesu's Opiate Sun is still my favourite record of the year, Mastodon's Crack the Skye is in second, and Final's Infinite Guitar 3 is in third.

Songwise, "Losing Streak" from Opiate Sun is my favourite song, followed by "The Last Baron" by Mastodon and Dev's "Ki".

i found Opiate Sun rather average to be honest. i thought GREYMACHINE's album was a much stronger JKB offering. same with Infinity.

Yeah, GREYMACHINE was awesome. As was White Static Demon. And I dunno what it was about Opiate Sun. It just kinda struck a chord with me more than any other Jesu disc going back as far as... probably Silver. JKB fucking owned this year. Council Estate Electronics was fackin brilliant as well...

i still havent got those recordings from avalanche ill make sure i get them when i have a bit more moneys. also JKB owns every year my good sir
