Also, what is the new Blackfield like?

a) Pure Reason Revolution (who made my favorite album of 2006, The Dark Third)

b) The new Blackfield is like the first one, but the songs are more fleshed out. For some reason they rerecorded Where Is My Love.

a)...sounds interesting! And quite fitting as a support from what I read.

b) I would assume that this is because the first released one was a bonus track. The bonus tracks I have are definately of lower production than the main album. I cant remember if they were credited as demos or not. Sounds neato anyway.

There is some definite Meshuggah influence in there. I think it's going to be awesome.

I heard the leaked tracks, and to be honest, I am at once disappointed and perplexed. I'm a fan of PT's older styles, so I guess disappointment with their current direction is inherent anyway, but the songs are really different in comparison to Deadwing. The sound is simultaneously expected and experimental. The last song, "Sleep Together," is really cool. Some of the synth textures in it are very odd, and it's a great closer on the whole. I'm excited to hear "the beast" ("Anesthetize") but the rest aren't so attractive, weird synths or not.

got the special edition today....it 'looks' great. But what on earth were they thinking? Once you got the CD out of the sleeve, good luck getting it back in! I made a copy of the CD and will just listen to that

As for the Album...it's great. 6 songs, one of them 18 minutes long. It's pretty dark and cold with 0% happiness. Some of the stuff on this Album is the heaviest they've ever done. That's all I can tell after only listening to it once so far!

Dammit I was hoping to get this today but neither HMV nor Virgin had it in stock. Hopefully tomorrow!

0% happiness? Yikes!

It's the first PT I've heard that doesn't bore me to sleep, even though I'm very tired at the moment.

Although I must add, Wilson still sounds like a fag, the lyrics are dripping with cheese, and what's his fascination with TVs?
