It was a fucking horrible day, I was in 6th form at the time, bunch of kids in the common room in tears frantically trying to contact their parents who worked in the city (including myself, but the mobile networks were jammed), we all walked out and went home. One of my friend's told me she got through to her dad, he worked in the building right next to where the bus had exploded. Spooked the fuck outta him.

As do I, my itinerary would've lead me through that exact spot a few hours later, as I was going home from Loughborough by train/Eurostar and needed to go from Kings Cross/St Pancras to Waterloo. When I was able to return the day after the tube was really empty.

Minor problem compared to most of these, but hopefully it'll give you a laugh and I need to vent

So, a few days a week, I work at my customer's site.

I get the train at 7.20, and spend an hr workin peacefully and listening to music on the train.

Got a new boss this week who pointed out that he'll be getting on the same train as me but a stop later. I was not pleased - this is going to kill my music time! So I'm seriously hoping I don't bump into him.

So yesterday was day 1....we get to his station and without a word of a lie, the train pulls up and he's stood on the platform at the window next to me, smiling at me! So he then talks about everything we've got to get done all the way there, which did not go down well before both 8am and coffee!

So, last night, I get up to leave, and you guessed it, he comes too!

This morning, I strategically placed myself at the back of the train, knowing he got on around the middle yesterday....and the bugger phoned me as soon as he got on the train! There's no escape!

Hehe annoying! Watch the movie Horrible Bosses for tips on how to preserve your "me-time" on the train.

Play nice, invite for dinner at Texarcana, invite back to living quarters for a sociable drink, cover floor in Style section, play Huey Lewis and the News, don raincoat, insert axe in face, problem solved!

Gutted. Huge influence on heavy rock music and on my own tastes. RIP Mr Lord.
