So it's been about three weeks and FINALLY it looks like my application for tenancy is being processed. But then again, that's what I said last time.

I found a place I liked before I moved to the city, so I gave my friend the inspection times and she was going to inspect it for me. But, when I called her back she never went so I wasted a week there... decided to apply anyway, the form required information I didn't have so I had to call them but it was Friday after closing so I e-mailed them, then when they replied Monday I filled out the application and sent it to them. Then I waited for them to send me the account details for the required deposit like they said they would, but they never did, so I had to call them chasing that up, then I went to pay the deposit but my internet banking was down, then it went back up so I paid it, I had to move two days later, then I called them after the estimated processing period because they never called me back, they said they hadn't even looked at my application because the deposit didn't go through (thanks for telling me), I checked my banking and it got refunded, I hunted down a bank in the city I just moved to and they said they didn't know why it got refunded because I have the money in the account and full access to it, then they wouldn't let me re-do the transfer there so I had to withdraw it and go hunt down another bank, then I finally paid it last Friday and I thought it was all over, then today they told me that in all that kerfuffle someone else applied for it and got it first so I transferred my application to a air-conless room in the same complex because that's all they had, now they're sending me even more paperwork which they need before they even begin to process it and which should have been part of the original application form but wasn't, not to mention I'm staying with a friend's family right now and real estate won't let me move into the new place for another week when the room in the same place that I applied for but didn't get I could have been in four days ago.... :furious:

tl;dr I'm effectively homeless, out of pocket a fair bit of money and really mad. Just sick and tired of this whole thing.

Kinda same thing for me :/ I think my posts are going to dwindle very much during the next few months, this semester is gonna murder me.

All worth it in the long run mate, all worth it!

I have to seal a paint job I did this weekend, it's 4am and the bloke I'm doing it for is picking up in several hours. But it's fucking cold, I don't wanna go outside.

that's a good idea to have Seal finish the paint job. He's got nothing better to do these days. Image "Sometimes we all gotta do a little....painting."

Looks like Ireland's equivalent of SOPA is gonna be implemented very soon. Great stuff altogether from our completely fucking clueless Minister for Enterprise, Jobs & Innovation. The fact that he can implement such a huge law and there's basically nothing to stop him because it's a statutory instrument is just mind-boggling. This is gonna seriously damage internet industry in Ireland, and considering sites like Google, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter are all serious employers here, not to mention one or two of them looking to expand, it's just completely nonsensical. They're rushing this through to try and please all the music and film companies who are suing them but despite that a new lawsuit was just submitted this morning so that's working well. At the end of the day they're creating an open-ended legislation that will basically give judges (who have come out and freely admitted to this being a pile of shit because the vast majority of them are old and out of touch with these things) the power to tell an ISP that a music or film company is pissed off with to completely block requested sites. So say Sony finds out that you can watch copyrighted material on YouTube via Eircom broadband - they then go to court and the judge can rule that the entirety of YouTube has to be blocked by that ISP because the site contains copyrighted material. Grand job try and stop illegal downloading but to do it in a fashion that could hugely limit internet access in Ireland, not to mention the damage it will almost inevitably do to internet-related business and employment, is completely and utterly baffling.

Saw a sparrow in Burger King today, just sitting on a lamp and chirping like an asshole. I can understand it though, it was freezing cold outside.

On a slightly similar note, certain restaurant in Warsaw has a resident cat. My brother and his wife visit the place from time to time and document the bastard. He seems to get bigger and bigger.

Can't decide if it's more of a sanitation or a weight watchers problem.
