finished Dead Space 3 a while ago. It was not bad but also not real great either. The game just shits enemy wave after enemy wave at you and there's no horror to be found as a result. I mean, it looks great and all and still plays like a Dead Space game, it just doesn't feel like one anymore.

Resident Evil Revelations on the other hand was really good. I'm glad I didn't have to get a 3DS for that game, heh. It plays like a modern shooter but there's lots of old school Resident Evil to be found in this game. No, there's no actual zombies but most of the game is set on a huge ship which you can explore, just like in the old games where you could explore a huge mansion, etc. . The puzzles are not very imaginative but still, I guess it's good to just have any at all anymore in a RE game. If Capcom keeps going back to RE's roots then that would be a great thing because there's a TON of action games these days but hardly any good survival horror games anymore.

But the best out of the 3 games that I played so far recently has been The Walking Dead from Telltale Games. I'm not done with it yet and just now finished the 4th episode. But damn is it awesome. I'm surprised that I have to say this but it actually is better then the TV show. Great story, great characters that you actually give a damn about. And it's just fun to play and very addictive. It's out on disc now but if you got an Xbox 360 Arcade with a 4GB harddrive then do not purchase the game on disc as this game does not run well on that version of the Xbox. I on the other hand have a 120 GB harddrive in mine and it ran without a problem so far. Anyways....terrific game. Get it if you can.

Currently saving up for a 3DS... there's at least 4 games I really want for it already and it's not been out that long.

Bought The World Ends With You for iOs a couple of days ago. It was

played a few games with one of my best friends this weekend. Bioshock Infinite is great, yes it's just a rather usual FPS wrapped in beautiful visuals but damn is it purty. And it was actually quite fun so far. Has been lacking awesome boss fights so far but it was really enjoyable however.

played through Spec Ops: The Line. Gameplaywise there's nothing to be found here. Just a generic third person shooter in that regard. BUT where this game wins is the story department. Very cool and dark stuff. Sort of like Apocalypse Now set in the near future.

Resident Evil 6 has the same issues as Dead Space 3. Too many enemy waves which kills any type of horror atmosphere. It was clearly designed for co-op play but alas you got the same enemy amount in the single player mode. And your AI controlled partners aren't really helpful. Oh well, I'll play through it anyways and will see how it goes.

Dark Souls...oh god, why did I buy this game, why did I do this to me. So freaking hard. I mean, I love a challenge but this game may cost me a controller or two. Video game rage...you gotta love it.

I've often wondered what compels people to play video games that are so difficult, they make you hate the game, spew horrid obscenities, shout like a madman (or screech like a banshee), accuse the game of cheating and become impelled to break and smash every one of their possessions (and maybe other people's bones) for no justifiable reason.

It can't just be because the games are fun. Although they are. Mostly.

Dark Souls is the most difficult c**t of a game I have EVER played. Well, not really. There were some obscene games on the C64 that I'm sure no one has ever finished. But definitely in the modern era.

Anyway I must admit I gave up after a while. Which in itself was frustrating as I know there is an awesome game there... I just can't endure the suffering enough to enjoy it.

The Last of Us is getting fantastic reviews and it does look amazing. So I just pre-ordered it. Yay!

I've been hearing that as well. But also that it's not pulling-dickmoves-constantly type of hard, i.e. if you mess up, it was your fault and not the game being a dick. Correct?

One of my friends recommended it to me and I have to say it looks quite interesting. What's the combat system like? Is it more or less like "one button pushed = one attack move" or where a few buttons pushed execute long pre-canned combos that can miss completely if you don't aim them 100% right and also get you killed during the time it takes for the combo to go through?

But talking of ridiculously hard games, have you tried I Wanna Be The Guy? Not a "modern game" in the strictest sense as it's basically a loveletter to all the Nintendo-hard 8-bit games, but if you like both old skool gaming and pulling your hair out cussing at a game, it's definitely worth a try. It's freeware too.

well, I'll be honest. When I played it for a few hours I missed my targets quite a few times, despite locking onto them. Don't really know if there is an actual combo system but there's several different attack moves, at least at the point where I am in the game. And like I said, I didn't get very far before I stopped playing. I think it's the type of game that you got to be in the right mood for.

I just found it utterly unforgiving and also quite old school in that if you made one mistake you were often returned to a distant save point and it started all over again.

I found that when I got to this dragon on a bridge and it just destroyed me almost instantly I realised I wasn't having any fun... so I packed it in. I'm no amazing gamer but I'm pretty decent and have been playing games for over 30 years... If I'm not having fun with a game any more, then what's the point?

If I was 12 and fueled up on cola and pizza, I might see it differently!

so now that I played through the first scenario of Resident Evil 6 I gotta say that it's not the worst game I have ever played but certainly not one of the best either. The game is so concerned with shitting tons of enemies at you that there's absolutely no room for atmosphere to build up. The focus on action and cutscenes is quite disappointing. I mean I don't regret playing it...at least not so far as there's still 2 other scenarios to play through. But when I put a Resident Evil game into my console then I want to play a Resident Evil game and not Left 4 Dead.
Oh well, despite all this, if you can somehow manage to not judge this game by the series' former standards then I guess you can still find a sorta decent action game here.

I probably will have to take a break from RE6 next week however because The Last Of Us will be released then. And if I'm veeeeery luck I might be able to get it a day or two before its official release! :D

E3 starts today. I hope Sony will tell us a bit more about the PS4 and whether they'll fuck up like Microsoft. Please, Sony...don't fuck up. I'd like to at least get a PS4! hehe

Trailer time!

Looks damn impressive. Let's hope it lives up to expectation.

I hope this will be on PS3, because I don't want to fork money out for a PS4 just for a new game, awesome/tempting as it might be.

well, I guess it goes without saying. Sony won the war last night before it even started. a PS4 it shall be then. Not at launch though as I'm sure they have to cure the usual console illnesses first
