i just got back from seeing NEUROSIS. it was INSANE.
a friend of mine who now lives in colrado came out for music fest northwest, which the show was part of. he's actually buddies with the band and somehow i ended up backstage kicking it with dave ed. i'm not much of a fangirl anymore, but going backstage is always a trip. ran into a bunch of people i know, including a guy i dated briefly and he sang me a song about masturbating and crying.
the show was radical. just as good as the last time i saw them, but they closed with 'through silver in blood' instead of stones from the sky' and they went nuts and broke a bunch of shit. the bass in their live sound is so fantastic. it's huge and physical, but not muddled.
i'd been saving some "goodies" for this show and it was so worth it. i've been having a pretty shitty time in recent months and this show was some kind of wild cathartic haven't-slept-in-two-days-and-it's-96degrees-outside-and-now-i'm-eating-opiates-and-not-giving-a-fuck thing.
and dude... other/sober self even saved some cake and ice cream for me which i am consuming right now and please excuse this post because i am still high.

I've turned a corner on creativity, and I'm trying to get my power nucleus together to start working on some projects. Small, o'course, but trying to build towards something bigger/greater/EXTREEEEME.

Returned from a weekend camping trip yesterday. No need for recovery as it is one of the most relaxing weekends I've had in a loooong time. 
My best friend came out for a bit too and brought me Ki and Decon/Ghost for my birfday. <3

Just took my son to school, turned on Sirius radio's Liquid Metal, and the extended version of "Love?" just started playing, which they followed up with "Deconstruction." Nice! First time I've heard Devin on any kind of radio since 1993. lol
