Did you co-op'd or played single? Tried to cross the thing by myself but found it utterly dull after a while. Uninstalled the game after reaching the prison, couldn't stomach anymore grindy zombie stabbing.

No, just single player. I can see the benefits of co-op with this one. Might give it and my eyes a rest for awhile, I think.

I know this is quite an old game now but I've only just got a decent internet connection so thought I'd give Little Big Planet a go online and it's AWESOME. This online gaming thing could be really popular one day...

bought Dead Space 3 used in 'like new' condition with an unused online pass code for only 20 Euros. Well, I only played it for about an hour but it may have been a wise choice to get it real cheap. Didn't feel like Dead Space at all. Hope that'll change at some point.

Also bought the retail version of The Walking Dead. Can't wait to play that and had a hard time keeping myself from downloading the episodes. But now I got all episodes on disc. If Dead Space 3 doesn't get any better quickly then I'll switch to TWD.

I know this trailer probably won't be the same as the gameplay's graphics, but still, this has made me very interested.

So, the Xbox One. Focusing mostly on the North American side of things sure alienates the rest of us. The always-on-and-preferably-online thing is slightly freaky. And it's without backwards compatibility. I don't get that, I didn't get that when the PS3 did that with their enormous PS2 games library and now Microsoft are doing the same thing. Forza 5 isn't going to persuade me to get one, nor are any remakes of games I already own... Also, apparently you will be charged for playing a used game. WTF?

Not to piss all over it: the Bluray drive is finally in there, the controller looks pretty nice, and the TV recording option seems like a nice feature to have as well. That, and we haven't actually seen a PS4. All in all though, I can't say any of the new consoles make me really want to have them with what I've read so far.

additional fees for used game purchases, you can't borrow or lend games anymore because you can only play your games with one specific profile or you have to pay an additional fee again which also means you can't really rent games anymore...all that means I won't be getting the new Xbox. First Windows 8 and now this. Microsoft really must have some sort of financial death wish. Thanks for fucking up bigtime, MS.

I can see why they're doing it. Personally I buy a lot of used games so yeah, I'm not exactly helping the gaming economy but I still bought my console and purchase downloadable content when it's appealing so the money's still going into the system.

At the moment the Wii U looks the most interesting to me. The main Mario games are reliably good and there's a few other titles that look decent already. Not a fan of FPS/sports games either so never got an Xbox. We'll just have to see what Sony can cook up.

I don't see why backwards compatibility is such an issue, surely it would improve sales of both the new console and the games for the previous console :? It does push 'remastered' versions of old games out there a bit but the majority of games don't get that treatment anyway.

well, it's true that one doesn't support the gaming industry by purchasing used games. But most gamers don't buy used games only. They only do when they're not sure about a game and don't want to shell out alot of dough for it and then be disappointed. There's a pre-owned market for everything. CD's, etc. etc. What if a game is out of print? Then you more often than not depend on the used games market. I mean, I understand they want to make money and they have every right to do so. But the gaming industry seems to have gotten exceptionally greedy. And they are pretty much killing used games stores and game rental stores with this decision. I really hope Sony won't make the same mistakes.

Not to mention that you bring out a new console and have only a few titles for it. The slow start of the PS3 is a good example; they went from a massive library to nothing. The new Xbox has several pros over the current version already (Bluray player, TV recording, built-in Kinect, silent fan, presumbly stable operation as in no RRoDs), so there could already be quite an incentive to get one for current owners who simply want to upgrade their systems while keeping their current game library...

Something (my inner snob) tells me all the exclusive stuff and more will eventually be available in the inevitable GOTY edition. Still, you get to fly a blimp - pretty good.

Yeah, most likely... But GOTY would mean to wait another year or so.
...And have the GTA series even done a GOTY version before?

well, they usually release a complete edition with all add-ons and probably the bonus stuff too. :)

^Yeah, they did that with GTA IV, combining both the main game and the expansion packs, with up to date patches, as well.
