I have two and a half days to finish the job I'm on. It's being picked up Thursday morning and I swear I need another week. Sorry Cody, your first days of London life are going to be marred by scuttling around a 3x8m studio with me freaking out all over the place.

Just heard "Lulu" at my local record store. I felt depressed for about three hours afterwards. Before I knew what it was, I thought it was a joke. Metal bands love to shit on their fans this year, don't they?

I have 3 days of nothing the following week to do whatever I want. It's fine. Trust me. I might not be as skilled as you are at this sort of thing but I will be so ready to help you out.

There's always Megadeth. Everything I've heard from their new album points to something like Countdown, though not as dynamic. Hey, I'll take that over Lulu anyday!

first world problem checking in...

my MP3 player is about to die. the battery will hold just about 45 minutes of charge at this point dunno what i'm going to do without it on my 45+ minute bicycle commutes.... those are the happiest points of my days.

if anyone has any suggestions for my next MP3 player purchase, do speak up. non-apple PLEASE! do MP3 players with replaceable batteries exist? i'm a creative devotee, but i hate the fact that the battery craps out before the thing itself.

Creative used to make ones with rechargeable/replaceable batteries.

Also, some of the more generic ones just run on expensive (i.e. $30) watch batteries, but you usually have to unscrew things.

My experience with mp3-players started when I was 15-16ish... with FOUR Creatives that failed, died and got aids one by one during less than a year... possibly less than 6 months even. I am far from the person who would pay shitloads for stuff just because it has a nice brand/name/logo.. but I went for an iPod, and I have never regretted it.

First one is still working, but 20GB wasn't enough for le faff, so I bought an 80GB one... which I unfortunately lost in a puddle after slipping on the ice : < . My current 160GB ipod has lasted since my 18th birthday... so, almost 4 years. Not bad. Not bad. I love it, and I think it's worth the money both in terms of functionality, sustainability, quality and BATTERY LIFE. We're talking weeks of daily use without charging if you dim the light.

I've been using Cowon portable music players for a few years now, and I really like what they offer.
Bettery life is usually great, my last one had a 50 hours life playing music, it was an Iaudio7, and I got the Iaudio9 now, lasts about 30 hours while playing music.
Ease of file transfer, great equalizer and flac support are also key factors.
If that does not work, lool here : http://anythingbutipod.com/

Yes. I agree 100% with everything. I had tons of Creative's as well. iPod has lasted me for 4 years as well. Battery life is insane and it's never failed me like my other mp3's have. It's worth the iTunes nagging.

Rockbox might help you out with that, if you already own an Ipod.
