still playing GTA4 and enjoying it greatly, it's also lengthier than I thought. But what really annoys me is the lack of check points within missions. That can get REALLY frustrating.

Or you could, you know, stop sucking at it.

I just realised I haven't turned on my Xbox in 2 weeks. Damn.

I never stop sucking. Ask Biert.

ahem...but seriously. I think I'm almost done or at least am getting closer to the conclusion of the game so I'm doing quite alright, heh. But yeah, having to redo an entire mission because of one tiny mistake ain't the most wonderful thing! :P

"OK, fought my way through an armada of bad guys and now I only gotta chase that boat with a helicopter...."

*helicopter accidently ends up in the water*

:x
:furious:

I haven't used mine in seven MONTHS. I literally just used it for the first time since April or so because I finally tracked down a copy of the Halo 4 Limited Edition. The game is pretty fun, and I do like the new story direction that 343's taken with the game. All in all, not a bad reason to dust off the console.

MK Challenge Tower # 300. What a bastard. Losing a shitload of times without changing characters helps, but still. Then again, it's no worse than fighting three Shao Kahns or three Goros (fuck those levels).

guess the mission in GTA4 I mentioned earlier was the last one, heh. So I finished GTA4 finally after buying it 4 years ago :P Might mess around some more in Liberty City before I move on to something else.

Got thru the first Assasin's Creed, started up the second immediately on XBox. Seems much more fun than the first one.

It's seems like Spec Ops: The Line landed in the bargain bins surprisingly fast - picked a DVD copy for like 25% of inital price, and it's fairly new production. Normally wouldn't touch it, as third person military manshoots aren't my favourite spots of gaming landscape, but it was cheap and gaming sites suggested it's something a little more than a shitty shooter. And boy it is.

I mean, mechanics wise, it is indeed a shitty, grindy shooter, with supposedly only thing going for it being an unique setting - ruins of Dubai. But past the first couple of man-shooty hours it starts the descent into the darker shades of grey - turns into a psychological torture you can't stop playing. The best anti-war anti-shooter with actual story I've seen (well, and first one probably). After completing it I see how the clunkly, grindy, tastless butchering was a excellent mean to deliver a story. Kinda hard to describe it without spoiling it, but its change of course halfway in is really something. Suffice to say - it's a game that turns from your usual "shoot everyone it's fun, that's how you do it" into a full on guilt trip.

I'm super impressed by the developer's courage - who decided to deliver a payoff after good couple of hours of generic shooting (quite a long setup huh) and in general to use a most obviously dumb genre to deliver deep and hard hitting story. Wouldn't be surprised if it spelt their doom - game being such a cheapo short time after release doesn't bode well. Anyway, buy it, it's a rare opportunity to spend money on a video game that makes you feel satisfied and feeling like shit at the same time.

So, I have to say, I am actually very impressed with the new AssCreed. The multiplayer is addictively fun, and the single player has the kind of scope I haven't seen since 2, and then some. Pretty impressed.

I saw a review of that game on Zero Punctuation also mentioning that different view from the generic triple A shooters. Considering having a look at it myself, especially if it's getting cheaper already.
