How many mice have you seen? They don't look like that. Its eyes are too big and the face is too blunt. Mouse features are more delicate and 'pointy.'

Although the snout looks a little truncated for a chipmunk - giving it a more squirrelly appearance. I agree it was a chipmunk to begin with though.

That depends. Like house buying it's all about 'Location, location, location'. I don't mind mice if contained and domesticated. I DO mind them loose, wild and pooping all over my house. Shudder.
