I had an awesome, if slightly weird dream last night:

I was transported back in time in a time travel device that resembled an avocado, to 1985, and to Donington Park for the Monsters of Rock festival. And magically I was suddenly as young, slim and fleet of foot as I was first time round. I was wondering whether I would bump into the original me but that would have embuggered the space/time warp rift continuum or whatever it is that every episode of Start Trek hinges upon, so I didn't.
Anyway, Metallica were epic again, Cliff was alive again and Bon Jovi, Ratt and Marillion were entirely absent.
Then ZZ Top hit the stage as headliners. Except Dusty came forward and announce that Billy Gibbons had lost his voice and would be playing guitar but they had a new vocalist, who turned out to be... Skrimp!!!

And not only did Skrimp nail every song, during Tush he went offstage and came back with a huge fake beard WHICH REVOLVED like Dusty and Billy's guitars!!!

Also, I now need to get a "Z" for my car keys.

Have I ever mentioned that the body of my beloved Frankensplorer is from a late 70's Dean Z. Although the neck is a late 80's Jackson because I don't like the Dean headstock.

Steven Wilson is remixing Jethro Tull's Aqualung album. My dream has come true.
Now he just has to to Thick as a Brick.

Nice.

Saw Gojira at Bloodstock last year. One of the best moments of my life evah, lol. Loved it.

Gonna be seeing them again at Sonisphere, and Mastodon are there too. Never really listened to Mastodon much, but from what I've heard, they sound pretty cool. Definitely gonna check them out before the festival, and then I'm sure I'll love their show :D

Try Leviathan, Blood Mountain and Crack The Skye, that should give a great varied look into what they do.

Just don't expect great live vocals. Brett Hinds... is special with them.
