Talk about whatever you want to here, but stay correct

I want another thunderstorm, but have to settle with chilly winds and occasional rain, what passes for winter here (lucky people in the mountains get snow). Still, it's going to stay under 20C for awhile, so that's good. Hopefully we may get some sleet in the coming weeks. That would be nice!

The weather is now officially FUCKED UP.
In 10 minutes it went from 30 (86) degrees and sun to 20 (68) and a HUGE rainstorm. I've never seen anything like this. O_O Do like.

OH LET THERE BE A THUNDERSTORM! I LIKE THUNDERSTORMS.

UGGGGH people out here like that kinda weather. I am not one of those people, if I could live my life at 65 F (18 C) I would be so happy.

Scotland's the place for you!

Hmm, don't be fooled, Octo. Scotland has only two seasons: Winter and August, the latter reaching the heady heights of 18C but accompanied by swarms of midges so thick not even a drunk Australian racist in blue facepaint could cut them with a broadsword.

Lies. :P That's only the highlands. We don't have those midgies down here. Also, leaning on the easterly side of the country we have a drier, warmer climate with four seasons.

You're safe, Cody. It's only up in Shetland that they have 3 months of winter and 9 months of bad weather.

Speaking of media world conquering... somebody directed the Maclife show this week since the "professionals" took all of their "professional" equipment and went to e3. For what we were left, I think we did a damn fine job.

Hit the mid to high 30s here in New York today (oh yeah, I'm in NYC by the way). It was humid, stinky and just generally disgusting. But, in keeping with the just plain awesome theme it stormed in the late afternoon and evening, bringing the temp down considerably. So we dashed out from the safety of the air conditioning to take some pics of Manhattan's lights as they bounced off gleaming puddles and rain-drenched yellow taxi chassis.

Followed that up with a deli meal and some Junior's NY cheesecake. Then watched the Mavs beat the Heat.

Life is good sometimes.

Telephone conversation (a sort of a one) with mummu! :D
She had a stroke 2 weeks ago.

My mom brought her hands free for her phone, "plugged" her in and called to me.
She couldn't still say too much, but she wanted me to go over there to see her and asked if the
pretty little birds outside wake me up too early in the morning :D

Still being able to move only one leg, both hands gone (other over 10 years ago because of rheumatism), she's obviously not able to go anywhere else yet.
But the bruise in her brain is starting to go away and we are slightly hopeful about her recovery to close what she was before the stroke.

Going to see her on sunday, yeei! :D

Hurrah for mummu and a speedy recovery!

I had an awesome, if slightly weird dream last night:

I was transported back in time in a time travel device that resembled an avocado, to 1985, and to Donington Park for the Monsters of Rock festival. And magically I was suddenly as young, slim and fleet of foot as I was first time round. I was wondering whether I would bump into the original me but that would have embuggered the space/time warp rift continuum or whatever it is that every episode of Start Trek hinges upon, so I didn't.
Anyway, Metallica were epic again, Cliff was alive again and Bon Jovi, Ratt and Marillion were entirely absent.
Then ZZ Top hit the stage as headliners. Except Dusty came forward and announce that Billy Gibbons had lost his voice and would be playing guitar but they had a new vocalist, who turned out to be... Skrimp!!!

And not only did Skrimp nail every song, during Tush he went offstage and came back with a huge fake beard WHICH REVOLVED like Dusty and Billy's guitars!!!

I could picture Skrimp in a starship troopers uniform shooting aliens with lasers.

With a twirling ZZ Top beard?

Also, Billy, did he have THE CAR to drive away in? ( Did you eat too much cheese? )
