It's not funny. At all.

I don't think it is either. If i saw that in life i'd friggin cry...

But i don't wanna spend my life being too serious... and if someone 'goes there' and writes a bit of text underneath a rather disturbing picture that you'd never really have thought of... but works so well... im afraid i'm likely to lol

Yea...Dunkel is a cool guy and all...But I just kind of shook my head with a bit of a frown on my face when I saw that picture. But I doubt he made the caption..I'm more worried about the fuck who did the whole thing.

oh the hypocrisy dear chaps, here we are all frowning "how terrible, how incredibly not funny" we all look at a picture of a hungry child and instantly emit said opinions, yet i dont see any of you going out of your way to help those kids, we're all comfortably sitting in front of a computer typing inane things sipping some coffee and having a snack.

and no dear feller i did not made the caption, i merely found it friggin' hilarious, but i shant post any more of these awful images, lest i upset your sensibilities.

I make a living for myself first. Call it selfish all you want, but I am the most important person in my life I'm afraid.

No - Nazi paraphenalia doesn't have that effect on me either. Some of the other pics were good though (although I'm not referring to the starving child one - which I haven't seen yet anyway).

Dunkel, I'm not angry with you. We all have our own personal views of humour and mine can be as bad as anyone else's. I'm a Mum though, so yes, these sad things probably affect me more now than they would have when I was just a young thing like you. And yes I'm sure there is a degree of hypocrisy and we can turn our faces away and choose not to look or think about how wretched some child's short life can be.

As for helping them - Red Nose Day is coming up here, when we can contribute something to help some of these poor souls. Although I have big issues with donating aid to these countries when all it does is line the pockets of corrupt officials. I prefer seeing direct 'on-the-ground' projects being done in those places. But even that is sometimes a lost cause. I have no real solutions to Africa's problems. Nor will rich countries do anything but talk while they continue to plunder its natural resources.

However, it doesn't stop me empathising with the toddler who may, indeed, have been consumed by the vulture many years ago. (Nor would I begrudge the vulture his meal, many of them are threatened species too. Sadly.)

So don't feel too defensive Dunkel.. be more worried that I don't nag you about damaging your own health through smoking and suchlike! :P

And sorry Coma, you're right... moving on. (I just didn't want Dunkel to feel that he was getting a spanked bum.)

Couldn't agree with you more, keeker.

When I was younger and didn't have kids I made 'baby/spear' type jokes and roared with laughter at stuff like that. Since I have children of my own that section of my humour has shut down completely. Anything connected with children suffering be it a joke or on the news or whatever just twists me up inside. I have to actively stop myself thinking about things like Madeleine McCann or baby P because I simply cannot cope with the enormity of it - I think because one can't help imagining something like that happening to one's own child.

10 years ago i would have been passing on the topical jokes as they appeared.

Sorry, but I'm not about to feel hypocritical for not finding humor in that captioned photo. I can't help every single world cause, but I try to do my part - donating to the ASPCA, participating in the March of Dimes every year, daily visits to the Animal Rescue/Breast Cancer/Rainforest Sites. I donated a new book this past Christmas to a needy child. It's not a lot, but it's something. So yeah, I take offense to someone assuming I don't don't do anything because he doesn't see me doing anything. :?

Erg. Said my peace, now I'm dropping it.
