As do I. I thought humans were evolving?

Biology and history (recent history too) suggests human evolution stopped 10,000 years ago.

The shooter said he wanted do explain himself. I wonder how he is going to justify butchering almost a hundred kids.

Truly sickening. Ugggh.

Best wishes Silje, and my heart goes out to the family of all of the departed.

I have my fingers and toes crossed for you, really hope you get some good news soon.

Maybe that's not how it'll go down but I fear something horrible is going to happen within the next 50 years.

That's a very important point right there.
Because there is no first-hand experience of What War Really Is, it is replaced by skewed TV propagandised versions, and virtual war via games (which I play enthusiastically, btw). This has been growing with each generation since WW2. I was born during the Vietnam War; my father (who was a middle-aged man by then) re-enlisted to go to SE Asia and fight...his third war. We had none of the media/internet saturation available now of course, so the only way I had of grasping any kind of reality was by talking to him as I grew older.
The Vietnam War was the embryo of Military/Media control of information, as TV had become such a standard part of life by then. This of course developed further during Desert Storm, and really went into overdrive September 2001. Apart from any direct personal military service, or close association with loved ones who themselves had served, the perceptions of those of us in the "West" have been drifting further with each passing year. Nothing sinister about this, it is an inevitable by-product of a sustained period of (relative) global peace and prosperity.
The problem is: none of us were at Verdun or Nanking or Stalingrad or Berlin or Nagasaki or Incheon or Saigon, so we experience that horror vicariously via virtual representations.
The reality is vastly different. There is no changing of channel or switching off the console. The more I see of graphic websites showing people across the globe punching/kicking/stabbing/shooting the shit out of each other while others applaud, do nothing or most disturbingly - stand there and film impassively...the more I realise the desensitisation process is reaching its fruition, and we are ready for the next major "population adjustment". The violence inherent in human hearts can only be held in check for so long. It can be contained to a degree by fear, lies and now consumerism...but it always leaks out here and there. Columbine, Port Arthur, Virginia Tech and now Oslo/Utøya.
George Santayana wrote:"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it"
"Only the dead have seen the end of war".

"Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori." One of the oldest lies in existence. We are moving into the cycle of the glorification of war once again, and the ensuing moral decline will be devastating.

It is interesting to see that the blame was IMMEDIATELY placed on Islamic fundamentalist groups. This tragedy proves that any kind of fundamentalism is dangerous. The man who committed this crime cannot be forgiven. We can blame whatever we like, but in the end it was his decision to kill.

His version of God, his version of justice, and his version of reality is such that it is hard to find any ounce of humanity.

To anyone here who was caught up in any way, stay well.

According to rumors, I can't make my own choices and life and just wait to be coerced by men.

Aren't I awesome?

Tis what I thought, but it's screwing me over none the less. It's a shame when people only listen to one side of the story, and believe it must be true.

Sent an email to amazon asking when they would stop using UPS to ship stuff in Canada.
They had been using them because of a postal strike here.

UPS : they have left delivery notice at my home without even ringing.
They don't have a convenient phone # to call for delivery changes, you have to do them online.
The phone # they have is a long annoying message telling you to do your stuff online, only after a good number of minutes do you get the option to talk to someone.
The website sometimes does not want to make change to a delivery, and does not say why.
Delivery changes done online are not done with any priority, so the delivery man can waste your 3 attempts before the change is taken into consideration.

So not shopping at amazon untill they switch back to their regular shipping company.

Racism in Australia is now legitimate apparently: https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=104121943010740

I don't believe it. For 200 years white people have been fucking over the Aboriginal people, and then proclaiming themselves as the 'true' Australians. It's appalling.

As such, there's a counter rally that I'm going to. Hopefully these Nazi scum will realise that Australia is for everyone.

Being American, it isn't hard for me to believe at all. The world is full of ignorant people.
