Before I get Skyrim, I'm occupying my newly acquired time with Oblivion. Goddamn, after three years of not touching it, this game still stands up.

I've started playing Morrowind again. It's so much better than Oblivion.

Played a couple of hours of Skyward Sword last night, I also got the special pack thingy with the controller and as my first time using motion plus I do see a noticeable improvement although it's sort of annoying having to recalibrate the controller every time you wake it from auto-shut off. The game so far is pretty damn good, flying around took awhile to get the hang of and I suck at landing accurately using the sail cloth thing, but the story so far is good, gameplay is good and it's pretty for a wii game. The camera does suck a bit, but I think all Zelda games do that, I'm constantly positioning the camera behind me. The first part doing all the tutorial stuff around Skyloft or whatever it's called reminds me heaps of the beginning of Wind Waker. Also, this:

Arkham City and Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions for $45.

Take that silly capitalist bloat holiday.

Yeah gonna be feeding into that consumer machine myself here in a bit...

Bought a house in Skyrim last night. Spent a half hour organizing my skulls on the shelf. I go hardcore.

I'm really loving this game. I'm over 20 hours into it, still haven't played Skyrim any further due to this game and probably won't untill I finished this. I guess I'm just hopelessly nostalgic. It is a great game though. After about 15 hours there is quite a bit of back tracking to be done but not to the extend that I'd consider it annoying. Besides you unlock new, beautiful areas that way. The camera is still a little annoying but I got used to re-positioning it all the time. Flying works really fluently and well now. But swimming, that ain't all that easy to me right now but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it. But yeah, I'm mighty pleased with this game.

You know you are playing video games excessively, when:

You prepare to walk into a supermarket, not quite sure what you need or what they may have on the shelves...so you go to hit the "Quicksave" key before you go in, in case it turns into a time waste...

Good point. Anyone else had games creep into their real lives?

During Assassins Creed 2 I found myself looking for ways to climb the walls in case I needed a quick escape.

GTA3 totally messed with my head. Cars were just begging me to be nicked!

Sometimes... I beyond hate video games. Seriously. Playing Mass Effect and encountered some glitch on this level in the elevator that won't let me leave. Game is completely down the drain. Have to start from scratch. UGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

it's good to manually save in this game as often as possible. Did you try reloading checkpoints?

Recently, I've been working on a mod for Left 4 Dead 2 that replaces the Special Infected sound cues with Devin music and soundbytes. Unfortunately, I'm really somewhat inexperienced with creating GPKs, and if anyone here is, I'd love to work together to make this a reality! So far, I've clipped a bunch of music soundbytes in .wav format, but that's about it so far, as I don't know what I rename the files to, what folders to put them into, or how to compile to .gpk format. I've also been toying with the idea of replacing the Tank noises with soundbytes of Dev's poopynuggeteer 2009 video, but again, inexperience triumphs over ambition.

Hahaha, man that sucks. Something similar happened to me whilst playing Far Cry 2. Got stuck on the back of a truck on a mission. Obviously I was meant to get right off but no, Mr. Glitch didn't want that.

Either way, thats one reason why to save as often as you can  .
