Just when things started to look a bit better, after we lost grandpa just months ago.
Now she's recovering in our local hospital, but there's not much they can do to help her recover.
It makes me again so sad to see her just sitting there on her bed, having nothing to keep her active at least in some way,
nurses just checking on her and helping her eat four times a day.
I know she would love to have at least a radio to listen to, she loves music, but since there are other patients in the room,
they are not allowed to bother them.
How come the rooms even have TVs then?

Going to see her this sunday.
I will hug her the best way I can! :D

Wish I could sneak Mushu there to see her..
I know seeing this happy face would make her happy too! :D

Sarai - give lots of hugs to grandma. And I agree - seeing that happy face would probably be wonderful for her. Take a picture of him with you, maybe. Keeping you in my thoughts, dear! <3

As I was walking to the subway to get to work this morning arounf 8 am, I met someone I worked with about 2 years ago. We made small conversation, and I asked what he was doing at that time in the morning... He was buying cigarettes, as he had a planned a day of computer games ahead of him, and he then explained that he was on wellfare, and made jokes as to me going to work for him to get his money from the government.

It not only made me feel depressed as per my own working situation... fuck it's a very nice day today, and I have to sit in front of this computer for 8 hours.
But also, of people like him, that will exploit measures put in place to help people in times of need. His affront of throwing his abuse of the system in my face was not much fun either.

I guess I have moral superiotity or something, but I still feel cheated somehow.

^You should have farted loudly before departing to give him an appropriate farewell.

I agree though, as fun as it might be to slack off and bludge on government payments, I hated living like that when I was forced to whist seeking a job, as it left me lazy and depressed; and since I'm employed now I have no desire to go through that again, and have only contempt for those who do sit on their asses and do nothing and make no effort to get a job like everyone else (presuming they are able, of course). People accuse some of the politicians here for being hard in stating they'll cut off welfare for those on it and force them to work; well not everyone can get a job thanks, but for those undeserving of welfare who aren't even willing to look in their first place, this proposed policy might not be a bad idea. Oh well.

The guy in question has it down to a routine, work for the minimum required time to get wellfare, get fired, get on wellfare, and when his money runs out get a job and the cycle continues.

Yeah, it's supposed to be summer here :(

Funny enough, you look at Australia's recent summer (east coast, anyway), it wasn't that much different, barring a few days above 35.
I personally don't like hot weather, so I had little complaint, but it was a surprise, considering the preceding summers were like being roasted alive.

Oh well, it's not solstice yet, so change will happen.
