They put a lot more effort into the story this time. The campaign seemed to be pretty lengthy which was a nice surprise and the gameplay is a blast as usual. There's a few on-rails sections again as usual and one of them in particular was simply beautiful. I hope to be able to play it with friends soon. 4 player coop must be fun! Need to get a new xbox live gold membership for that first though, hehe.

Can't wait to get my paws on Gears of War 3. Heard too many good things now to not bother. :D

My paws have been touching this game gem for few days now, and I LURRRRRRRRRRRRVE it!!
First I was really annoyed that there are so many GIRLS in the game, screwing everything up by their "awwhh yech I'm NOT getting in that icky transport thingy, get me a Mini Cooper!" or "like I'm going to wear something like THAT! It's gonna make me look sooo fat!" (which was just how I imagined it could be :D ), but when I found out it's Anya who's strolling along, I didn't mind it at all. She's a tough one.

But for me, Gears was always the insane testosterone filled man-army with big guns and big armor and lotsa kabooms, no place for girls to totter around.
Now there are lots of girls.
One has bad attitude, bad accent, one has huge cool dreadlocks and sounds like an aussie..
Coming to think of it, most of the female characters have bad attitude
(I'm not talking about the Queen, she's in a different league and she's a baddie.)

How long will it take until Battlefields and Medal Of Honors will have masses of insanely hot engineer and scout girls jogging around and being all tough in these manly surroundings?

(And now my WoW-update: druid lvl 66 and death knight lvl 59.)

I think all the COG ladies in this game are pretty badass! I think it's great that they added a few ladies to the team. And there's only 2 of them playable in the campaign anyways. So there's still plenty of testosterone! :P

Genre's coming back with the new Twisted Metal

Am I jealous, is this what it's about?!
Yeah, they are badass chicks, but still I think we would've been fine with Anya.
She's your all around expert!
Sam (? the brown-tinted girl who picks on Baird) is annoying.

Co-op is quite fun too, but horizontally split screen made me seasick :D
Ammo runs out really quickly if both players have Lancer.
I had to turn to enemy weapons quite quickly, but it's not GoW without the dear Lancer in hand!

I've been meaning to keep an eye on this one, the trailers and pics piqued my interest, I'll see how it does on reviews and with some more gameplay videos before commiting to buying it.

I'm not quite sure about Rage yet. It looks amazing but graphics aren't everything and I'd like to read some reviews first. After Fallout 3 and Borderlands I'm not sure if I need another game with that kind of setting.

Ah, I will most likely be purchasing a new PC since the stationary (I am bringing up to where I live now in a suitcase anyway) is a waste of money to upgrade. I am looking at an AMD X6 Phenom 3.3ghz six-core, 4gb ram (lololol gonna add another 8 since I'll be music productioning on it) and some awesome GPU card and stuff. Also, dual-monitor + massive desk + sound isolation + 2x KRK VXT6. Mass Effect 3... bring it on. I'm going to become a dweller again. Just not in a basement.

Just finished Mass Effect 2 (FINALLY) last night... Pretty kick-ass ending, it must be said, and overall definitely a game that slots into the upper echelons of my all-time favourite list. Thoroughly looking forward to ME3 now...

Good timing on finishing it too, for I shall be picking up my Shadow of the Colossus & ICO collection tomorrow... and maybe Fifa 12 as well if I have the monies for it. That'll tide me over till the October/November rush quite nicely! :D

Ah for fuck sake!! I saw the ESRB rating review on IGN the other day and was delighted that it was still being developed but that's a big disappointment! Been waiting all these years and all for a downloadable rather than a full game. :furious:

that is one thing that sucks. But the game also doesn't really look all that great anymore. :(

P.S.: in general I think that the trend towards releasing games as downloadable content only sucks greatly. I don't know whether it's just a different generation of gamers now or whatever but I do prefer to have a physical copy of a game with artwork, manual, etc. and own the game for the rest of my life instead of owning it for as long as my harddrive lives and for as long the game is still available online.
Resident Evil 4 HD comes to my mind. Instead of releasing the game remastered and with at least somewhat updated graphics Capcom chose the easy path and just released an overpriced, half-assed port of the game with upscaled graphics instead of real HD which apparently makes the textures look worse than ever and it's only available for download (Japan being the exception). Way to go. One has to appreciate Konami in that regard. The Metal Gear Solid and Silent Hill games will get the proper HD treatment and the games will be released on disc.

Just watched 4/5 of the character classes from the Diablo III beta on youtube, it looks freaking sick. Cannot. Wait. To. Play. All else in my life will be forgotten when that game gets released. In fact, I think I shall go play Diablo II now....
