Especially for fighting games.

absolutely! I HATE the 360 D-Pad. But when it comes to the sticks I must admit that I prefer the 360 sticks. But the PS3 sticks work ok too, I'm used to Sony controllers. But people who never had a Sony controller in their hands before and are used to 360 and Xbox controllers might not like them too much. So I think these 3rd party controllers make a good alternative. Quite a few friends of mine never play any shooters on their PS3 because of the small gamepad and the sticks.

hmm, Dead Island has kind of turned into the game of 1,000,000 deaths for me, heh. At some point zombies are über-strong and if you get caught up in a small horde of zombies then you're basically fucked. I guess that just shows that the game works better when played co-op. I'm not an xbox live gold member though. But still, it's enjoyable and I have not run into a game breaking bug yet. A friend of mine apparently has though. So I might wait for the patch to be released in Europe before I continue. Could get annoying otherwise.

That game is so addictive!I haven't played in ages though because my old laptop was super crummy and barely ran it, but I was looking to get a full version too. I haven't played any online yet but I'm in the process of downloading TM Nations Forever through steam, it's free but I think paying for United Forever would be a solid investment. Since TM2 is going to be a series of games in itself, I think I wanna see where that goes before I buy it.

I caved in today and bought TM United Forever. Now I'm on a mission to become the best racer in my province, just because it keeps track of that. I've not done a lot of online racing yet, but repeatedly getting dumped on a ridiculous random unknown track with 50 others and then trying to set the best time within a 5-minute time limit is stupid amounts of fun. :D

call me a sexy but crazy motherfukka but I think I'll again wait for the GOTY edition :P That way I'll get all add-ons and hopefully many bugs will be ironed out then too. And I expect tons of bugs as usual!

Back into Starcraft 2 after a huge break. Feel like I'm actually a slightly better player this time around.

Still a bit of a gamble though. I seem to run at about 50% win/loss. Always play as Protoss, despite pretty much always feeling like I'm at a disadvantage. They're just cooler.

Anyone else still hitting sc2?

ran into my first somewhat annoying bug/glitch in Dead Island. Loaded my save file and somehow the game spawned me at a completely different location where I had a hard time finding my way out of, heh. For a while I actually thought I might be stuck and may have to start all over again. But even if that were the case I found a pretty easy solution for this online. You just have to join someone else's game and that will teleport you to that person and out of your misery  Besides that moment of annoyance I actually having a bloody good time playing this game. I'm just wondering where that 'day one patch' is that I have read about several times. The game has been out for days and there still has not been a patch available for me. :?:

soundsofentropy wrote:Hey all, sorry to interrupt (and hello again!). Just going through the forums/news after a while and thought I'd pose a question. Lately I've been playing a lot of Borderlands. That is, too much. I've probably logged 100+ hours so far. So, I guess my question to you guys is this: do you know of a game that has that sort of watered-down RPG element (skill trees, classes, looting, but not 30,000 different skill categories and 10-tiered conversations--it doesn't have to be an FPS, but something more of an adventure than your basic RPG grind)?

Also, I recently got Crysis. That game is ridiculously pretty (running it at max. settings :D ), and fun to boot. Oh, and who's psyched about the Portal 2 DLC later this month? I'll be looking for some dudes to play with.

Actually now that I played it I can also recommend Dead Island. You played tons of Borderlands and Dead Island actually has borrowed quite a lot from that game. The skill tree system is not complicated at all, kind of like in Borderlands. There's no hour long conversations, each character has his own specialties, there's plenty of looting to do. So maybe it's a game that you'd enjoy! Oh and you can play it with 3 friends cooperatively too! It's kind of like Borderlands meets a little bit of Fallout and a good portion of Left 4 Dead.

Mortal Kombat is what I have been playing. Just with friends. Not much of a gamer these days. I do want to play deus ex though

After being turned off by Deux Ex, I've come around and think I can enjoy that game, but I'll wait for it to drop in price.
I've been playing the Big Empty for Fallout New Veags, and it is quite nice breath of fresh air, really love this new content.
After Fallout, it's on to Dead Island.
