Talk about whatever you want to here, but stay correct

My fucking friend/house mate. I swear I've never known a more lazy, narrow-minded, pretentious recluse in my life.

It's not much, but we'd been planning on going out to play football this weekend all week. I absolutely love being active, especially when it's playing/doing some kind of sport. When we play, I have to be pulled away from the field to stop. Even if my feet are bleeding, I can't turn down "1 more long range curling shot on goal", it's just so fun.

I'd ordered a new t-shirt and shorts to be able to play in too, rather than just wearing crappy cheesy holiday swim shorts and a band t-shirt that I'd rather not ruin. The shirt arrived this morning, so I was even more up for it.

Then I find myself waiting until 3pm for him to get his lazy arse out of bed... and then when he finally does... "I don't want to go"

"Why not?"
"I dunno. I'm skiving"
"So you're gonna let this amazing weather that we've not had in months and probably won't have again for a while go to total waste?"
*mumble-shrug*

FOR FUCK SAAAAAKE.

This probably doesn't make much sense to most of you. I'm know everyone has days where they're not in the mood for physical activity, but if you had to live with him like I do...

It's not just a once in a while "nah I'd rather spend this one extra day sat at home being a couch potato to go along with the other 6 I've had this week and the other 6 I'll have over the next week - at which point I will again 'leave you hanging' to wonder whether I'll just give the same response" - It's ALL THE TIME.

"Our course mates are playing a gig tonight, d'ya wanna go? It'd be alright, just chilling with a beer and stuff. I'm sure they'd appreciate us being there too"
*Already knows what the answer will be*
"...nah"
"So what you gonna do instead?"
"I dunno. Play games"
"You do that every evening already. Do you not feel the urge to do something different?"
"...nah"

"Do you wanna take the short 8 minute walk down to our course mates to chill out with some beers and watch a decent game of football that will be on?"
"Nah can't be arsed"
"For what? an 8 minute walk?"
"Yeah, just can't be arsed"

He's 21 years old, but honestly, you'd think you're living with a grandpa going on 60, and when your other 2 house mates spend every evening sitting in front of the TV knitting/cross-stitching, it can be very irritating being a 19 year old who loves to get out and do active things.

And the thing is, this post will make him sound like a fat greasy slob like South Parks depiction of a WoW player... but he's not. He looks like the kind of guy that enjoys excercise.

I just find it weird because, at times he'll be like "Ah man I really wanna go and play football!" when the weather is bad or when it's gone dark, yet the following Saturday when the weather is perfect, he'll have the "Dunno. Just can't be arsed" mood, even if he's had 14 hours sleep or whatever the night before.

So now I'm probably gonna spend the next 3 weeks praying for good weather then being let down by a slight drizzle (or whatever it takes to put him off playing), feeling my energy build up more and more. (I'm like a pet or something, I need to be let off my leash once in a while to stretch my legs)

I should start going for runs or something. While excercise in the form of a monotonous run doesn't interest anywhere near as much as sport-related excercise, it would at least burn up all my energy and make me feel all achy, and consequently dull my desire to go out and play.

I apologise for this rant. It's miniscule compared to some peoples' recent problems on here, but I had to vent.

[/school girl bitch session]

Tolerance, my friend. He's probably posting on a forum right now about his gung-ho flatmate who is constanty trying to get him out to do sporty shit and won't leave him the fuck alone to focus on his gaming.

Haha, probably. I know it's pretty selfish really, I just gotta accept that some people are completely content with living each day out as a duplicate of the day before. (How?! HOW?! HOW COULD YOU BE LIKE THA- ... *ehem* ... relax Aden, it's nothing worth moaning about)

What's funny is, the game he plays all day instead is FIFA 2011. What makes most games enjoyable to play is that it gives the player a chance to come as close as possible to 'experience' a situation that they most likely never will. How many games have you played that make you think "Man I wish I could 'go inside' this game and actually be doing this", or "Fuck, I wish there actually was a Zombie Apocalypse. It'd be awesome. I'd be amazing" etc.

Instead of actually going out there to play real football... he instead chooses to stay at home and spend hours playing a (pretty bad) virtual representation of it.

Aye, twas a bollocks alright. I re-wrote it for the rest of the day but still, I could've got a lot more done so it's set me back a fair bit. It's on representations of the Irish and the Britons in literature and cartography from Antiquity to the twelfth century. Most of my historical work is on ethnography, stereotyping, concepts of national/religious identity and persecutions in or before the medieval period.. Modern history doesn't really bode well with me, possibly because modern Irish history is nothing but a series of pathetic failures and flawed personalities. I find it hard to connect to and painful to study so I stick with the much older stuff..

Sounds like a modern history of Poland. And by modern I mean last ~250 years. We have neat cult of failure here.

Gramps has gone to a better place :<
Missing him, but I got to tell him bye and wished him a pleasant trip to the other side.
Also gave him two coins for the ferryman!
Would be a shame to leave unprepaired.

And suddenly last night mom and dad came over, took my good new washing machine and
replaced it with this old, tiny and smelly one.
My machine had 29 minute program, the "fastest" in this "new" one lasts "only 1,5 hours.
Yey for doing laundry after work..
Or before :D
Waking up around 6 am to turn the machine on, and of course it's so loud that you can't sleep while it's washing.
But the thing is, my own machine was only 4 cm too wide for the gap that was built for washing machine, and
this "new" one fits it perfectly.
Too bad everything else about it is craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap.

Condolences for the former.

Might have caught a bug, because my eyes are heavy, I'm sneezing every so often, and all day my left ear has been panging like somebody has a voodoo doll of my ear and is sadistically stabbing it. At least I can get antibiotics around the corner.
