I'm currently on wXP, but I'm installing Linux (Ïa!) soon.

Starspree, how large should my partition for Mandrake 10.0 be? And does it matter that I need SP1 for XP to use that part of the HD not to corrupt it? I don't have SP1, and I'm using PartitionMagic 8.0.

if you're using partition magic make sure too defrag before you make your changes. with linux you have to create two partitions one will be your linux filesystem and the other will be your memory swap space. Make the swap about as big as the amount of RAM you have. And make your linux file system about 2-4 gb.

format c:\ or deltree c:\ were always fun to do at the school library

I did software support for 2 years, that's not so bad.

Customer: I need some help installing the program.

I know exactly what you mean... I've worked at phone support for half a year, and after that I ran away screaming. Now I work at the ICT Servicedesk at my university... so if someone calls and starts to ask stupid questions I can just go over there and do it myself in a lot less time... Really helps with the bitter and stale problem!

Dammit thats what I wanted to do. I'm workin at a uni now but it has nothing to do with phone supprt thank God.

No, but rebooting actually derives from kicking your PC with a boot. Old computers, anyone?

And, sledging a PC on windows is usually referred to as standard exiting windows 98. At least at home.
