 cool. Well, it really is that good. I think I'll load an old save game and will replay it again soon.
And then I'll try to finally finish Alan Wake before the Red Dead Redemption co-op pack is up for download on the 22nd. But to be honest...after playing RDR, I'm not really in the mood for anything inferior  Played through RDR twice now and played it online for over 40 hours.
Yes, I need to get a life...well, actually...no...fuck life. It's a totally overrated waste!

So...how are us nerds supposed to pay for the 24034750475 awesome games shown at E3?

It's fun and the finale is really cool and nicely thought through. It took me a little over 2 hours to get through it so it is about twice as long as the Kasumi DLC. So that has surprised me too. I definitely recommend it!

Definitely going to get the new God of War for PSP just because I like God of War haha.

Sony's Press Conference was damn good, I loved it.

Really? Sony's conference seemed the weakest to me, well besides Ubisoft's.

Sayeth the Nintendo fan for life. Nintendo's conferences are always completely predictable: "We're the highest selling company. Here's a new Zelda/Mario/Metroid game. Buy the 2253434 version of the DS." At least Sony came out with some surprises. Like Gabe Newell praising their console, Twisted Metal being brought back, Little Big Planet 2's creation tools, and the game specific exclusives. Granted, I will be picking up the Goldeneye remake for Wii.

The ending of RDR definitely hit me different than I thought it would. No spoilers here though!

Considering I play my 360 more than my Wii, and certainly have a PS3 in my house, I dunno where you get off on that.

My issues with Sony's conference, besides the usual air of unearned smugness, really includes how important to them their failed business model is.

They really think they're going to win over more market share by forcing new Sony Bravia tvs, with already dated technology that requires glasses.

That said, for knocking off the Nintendo market, Sorcery looked like it'd be cool.

Yes, I did find Nintendo's conference to be the most impressive this year, simply because even though they did something new with old titles, doesn't mean they didn't do something completely new. And really, calling out Nintendo for its interests in its IPs... that's a tired hat, considering generic FPS is usually the lead sku for any other console, and really other than little gameplay advancements, they rarely change. Welcome to an industry built entirely by sequels. In fact, the games you referenced were all sequels.

Oh and for the record, Nintendo just pays the bills. I grew up Sega!

Besides Singularity and Bulletstorm (both FPS games...imagine that) there really aren't many new IPs coming out. Needless to say most of these games are only on their second or third iteration as opposed to massive number of Zelda and Mario games over the years (I'll count Metroid out of this one because they have released the fewest games compared to the other 2)

And we can all thank Sega for the train wreck that is Alpha Protocol! The biggest let down of the year. A new IP that flopped worse than a fish out of water.

No reason, other than your constant defense of Nintendo really. You've really never made it known that you play your 360 more is all.

On a completely unrelated note...WHERE ARE MY FUCKING DEUS EX HUMAN REVOLUTION GAMEPLAY VIDS?! :furious:

Unrelated Comment about E3

As a Wii owner, I'm excited about The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and Metroid: Other M. After all, the only reason I got a Wii were for Zelda/Metroid/Mario/SSB titles. Everything (if anything) else that's good is gravy.

And as a fan of MGS, I think Rising looks like bullshit. I would have rather had a seriously well done "MGS5" sort of thing (maybe featuring Big Boss) than the ability to cut things, in what looks like mindless and short-lived gameplay. It's like all the bad bits of MGS2 made full-length. Thrilling.

CoD: Black Ops looks cool, if predictable, Future Soldier looks pretty good, and I'd like to play through the new Assassin's Creed.

Oh, and motion controls? Overrated.

I'll get MGS Rising. I'm really hoping the story is somewhat pertinent to the story of MGS4 so it's not just a hack and slash set in the MGS universe.

Also, Castelvania Harmony of Despair sounds AWESOME. Mostly because you can play as Alucard.

Castlevania Lords of Shadow looks and sounds good too. The new Red Faction almost sounds like it's going back to it's roots from the first game crossed with the story and style of Guerrilla. Will definitely be getting Dead Rising 2 to settle the zombie massacre cravings haha.

Dead Rising 2 seems to be a given for me too. Combining a motorcycle with chainsaws? Sign me up! The shooting mechanics seems to work much better in this one but I really hope there will be some sort of cover system in DR2. I hated the fact that there was none in DR1. That made shootouts with psychos more difficult than it should have been.

and I'm not too worried about MGS: Rising not being a traditional MGS game. It's a spin off and the day it was announced I knew it would be different. And after all, there's Peacewalker for everyone craving for a more traditional MGS game.

Portal 2 looks really sweet. There's gameplay vids on IGN and the graphics look really good actually. Why didn't Left 4 Dead 2 look like that?

Castlevania: LOS looks pretty damn cool too. Yeah, it does look like God of War but that's not a problem as long as the game kicks ass.

the controls for the new Zelda game actually do seem to work fine. So it looks like there indeed were technical problems when Shigeru Miyamoto presented the game. Didn't work at all when he played it but I have seen several gameplay vids on IGN where some other dude played it and it seemed to work really well. So I'm hopeful. It looks pretty sweet anyways.

Well, pushing their portable gaming stuff is all well and good, except that the games aren't as fun as full-on console games. I'd like it better if the platforms for each game were switched. Oh well.

The new Castlevania looks pretty damn cool, and so does the new Zelda. I'm a sucker for these old franchises, I guess.

Lords of Shadow and Metroid: Other M are my two most anticipated titles, for sure.

Hopefully, Lords of Shadow feels like a Castlevania game though, as opposed to a God of War knock-off.

Alucard, one last retread on prior arguments. I only defend Nintendo because I feel like there's a lot of unjust nerd-rage towards them. Their first party hasn't really changed in the last few generations, but at least everything THEY put out is generally a lot of fun to play. They can't help the shovelware, nor can Microsoft or Sony help the pending shovelware that's about to inundate their releases.

Fallout: New Vegas tonight... I'll jizz even more than that time Bruce Willis was dead at the end of Sixth Sense.

And to be fair to Nintendo, I ragged on them a bit for basically having all sequels and remakes but hell, everyone else pretty much only had the same sort of stuff. Very little new ideas floating about, it seems. And the new ideas that are there seem to revolve around this motion crap.

I personally can't really understand any of the complaints about any of the consoles...just personally. I love all my consoles and yeah, also love Nintendo. I grew up with Nintendo games and it is true that in general they are just a lot of fun to play and that should count too. For example...the Metroid Prime games don't look as über awesome and movie-like as, let's say, Modern Warfare 2. But as a video game any Metroid Prime game is better, in my opinion anyways. Or New Super Mario Bros. Wii...I had a buddy sleep over a couple of weeks back and we decided to play that game a little together. And then we ended up playing through the entire game in like 10 or 11 hours non stop untill 10 am in the morning because we had such a blast. So yeah, even if Nintendo may not always re-invent the wheel and even if most of Nintendo's games are based on series that were born decades ago, most of the games are just great fun. It is just kind of sad that most Wii games for adults are not successful at all and alas that probably means there will be less and less of these games for the Wii. Another House of the Dead game would kick so much ass. Or another Madworld game. But I'm afraid it won't happen for the Wii. But now that the PS3 will have 'Move', there may be such games for the PS3 at least.

You might want to look up that other Castlevania I mentioned then!

Octillus, from what I read about Lords of Shadow is that they are trying to make it feel like an old school Castlevania in a new setting/style. I'm am thoroughly interested in it.

I'd like to repeat that I'm eagerly waiting for more info/video on Deus Ex Human Revolution.
