The whole Kinect experience has me intrigued to see where they might take it. Really, it's just a more versatile version of the PS2's Eyetoy. The hands-free user interface is actually what impressed me the most. Even though the big thing for consoles now seems to be free-moving control to help attract the casual gamer, I don't think there can't be room for both the casual and hardcore crowds. Hell, if it'll draw in some extra cash that could potentially be spread to new innovations or game ideas, then full steam ahead, I say. It might be awhile before the Move and Kinect meld with the hardcore audience (though the Move controller seems better suited to achieve it before both the Wii or Kinect), but I wouldn't consider it out of the question. The Wii has clearly done well with its motion control, and it has gotten a variety of people who never touched games before in their life to participate. Motion control might seem like a gimmick, but it has its fair share of consumers, so I don't see it burning out any time in the immediate future...I think the Wii will continue its supreme reign, Kinect will turn heads for not needing a controller, and the Move could very well make a move (pun intended) to appeal to the more intense gamers (I can see it being applied amazingly well to a game like Heavy Rain).
