It's not that I try NOT to have my normal accent, it's just that the Leicester accent can sound awfully stupid when it's laid on thick. People used to pronounce my sister's name as "Carl-eh" instead of "Carly" and it's always grated on me!

I feel your pain, I'm across the way in Derby; last time I checked my name was Mika, not duck.
Still, I'm from Cambridgeshire and despite attending a crappy school, still manage to sound 'Cambridge educated'

Worrying about people I care about and their troubles, as I am wont to do, but sitting back and sipping a sweet drink and letting work just kinda happen today.

Being tired and drained and about to go to bed ready for another long (but hopefully much better) day tomorrow. Praying I'll be able to bring mum back home from the hospital for some decent care and r&r soon. Sigh.
