Contemplating a move to the north coast on New South Wales in a couple of years.

For far, far less than the price of a smallish house here on an average sized block, I could buy a house on acreage to finally keep chickens, have a bunch of dogs, grow many of our own fruit and vegies, and give the family tons of room to grow. Gorgeous hinterland views, perfect weather, minutes from the beach and great fishing, half an hour from a good sized town (70000), holy shit I really need to make this happen. Seriously.

I know, sounds ridiculous huh?

My colleague and desk neighbour at work has a property there and is dying to move back when work allows.

Here's an example of what I mean. I got an email about a land release here in Canberra. 400m2 blocks have been released for the same price as this 70000m2 property in the area I'm looking to move to:





And this beach just a few minutes drive away:



Fuck it, I'm working on landing a job up there and making this shit happen. Don't care how long it takes me.

With a baby due in the next couple of weeks it's probably going to be a couple of years before we're in a position to try and move, but if and when we get there... PICS!!!

just got back from a trip down to eugene (about 100 miles south) with about 20 other people for a crappy dance club. i usually hate things like this, but i really just wanted a change of scenery and an adventure. everyone was really efficient in meeting up and sorting themselves into various vehicles for once. i ended up riding with 3 other people who i really enjoy being with and i got to plug my laptop into the stereo on the way back and play DJ.

Reads r/trees for an hour. Wants to get high so bad.

Chewing salmon bones.

i was invited to go see a swans cover band, but fuck cover bands. i'd rather just listen to the actual albums.
instead i'm checking out new-to-me music (meathook seed FTW), drinking tea, and getting fucked up. me gusta.

Eating a a light lunch of tuna, crackers, and chili sauce. Might go for a walk later.

South of Coffs Harbour basically. Which is rather nice as the bloke in that pic has a cattle farm just NW of Coffs! The whole area is yet to see the usual jump in prices presumably because it's exactly halfway between Sydney and Brisbane. Which suits me fine! Rich volcanic soil just waiting for me to stick plants into it.
