I did too, I mean, one of my favorite moments in video games period, comes when Beatrix and Steiner just go apeshit to save Garnet's kingdom to a cracked out remix of Greensleeves.

hmmm...your praise for FF13 actually raised my interest some more. I guess it's not FF7, which was a masterpiece to me, but sounds like it's a good game anyways if you don't judge it by your expectations. I read that there's one girl in the game that really gets on your balls quickly (metaphorically speaking) but I guess there's a character like that in most FF games. So I guess I will have to get it too.

oh and I managed to beat Mega Man 9 after all. Got home earlier, just sat down and shot my way through the Dr. Wily stages. Took me about 4 hours or so to beat the game though. How long does it take a pro to beat the game...45 minutes? 30 minutes? Heh...so yeah, I still suck. But I beat the damn game! :D

oh and to those of you who play ME2 and did not know yet (just found out myself)...a new heavy weapon is available for free for all Cerberus Network members.

oh, and you know what rules? when a robot does the robot dance

Legion was the shit! Sucks he died in my first play through D:

Also finished Bad Company 2 the other day. Never finished the first one because it got on my nerves too much. This one was much better and the ending was not your usual "hint at a sequel" or "we got the bad guy! (really didnt and he's just waiting till everyone turns around)"

It was a fitting ending, that does set it up for a 3rd one.

It took me awhile to get through the Wily stages on my first play of Mega Man 9, as well. The part that always drives me insane is in the water level of the castle, where you have to jump across a spike pit from one tiny opening to another tiny opening. I seem to always hit my head when I jump there, no matter how far I toe onto the ledge, which results in Mega Man falling into the spikes and getting poked in places he apparently isn't too fond of getting poked in.

the blob thingie boss in Wily's 3rd stage drove me nuts a few times...no matter how well I memorized its patterns, I got hit a million times anyways. And I agree, the spikes can be awfully painful. Instant death is annoying in any game. Especially in Mega Man games.

It's in vogue currently to hate on the game because, that's just what gamers do, they have mob mentality. However, yeah your lead character is totally Celes from FF6 reborn, and that's a good thing.

Already immersed in Metro 2033. Only played about an hour of it so far, this is definitely a game you want to play at night with either headphones on or a nice surround system. The atmosphere is just about on par with any of the Stalker games and the graphics are better. The story is much more fleshed out than any Stalker game (as it uses full voice over instead of a lot of reading) and has a few really good set pieces right from the beginning.

Solid game, if you like atmospheric FPS games with dark environments and the survival horror genre, I recommend it.

I decided to wait a bit till I pick up Metro 2033. I read that it's short and has very little replay value. So I think I'll wait till it's a little cheaper. It does look pretty cool though.
Can't wait to play Final Fantasy XIII on Thursday. I decided to go ahead and buy it for my PS3 anyways and am pretty sure that it will blow me away visually.

Arkham Asylum. In 3D.

Now I know what I shall be getting to hold me over while waiting for Red Dead and Mafia II. Delays are a bizzatch, but this'll do nicely to ease the pain of waiting. :D

I dont know. I can see it being rather short, I have a really bad feeling I'm already on the final chapter. I'm going to be very disappointed if I finish it tomorrow, I put a good 6+ hours into it today.

I'm also convinced that one of the achievements in it is impossible to get. Making it through one of the levels without killing anyone. I really dont see how this is possible. I tried about 10 different times to get to the first objective without being seen and not killing anyone. I'm just going to wait until someone posts a video on youtube of them getting the achievement.

Finished Metro 2033 tonight. The final part of the game is one of the best mind fucks I've ever played in a game, I really dont want to spoil it, but all I'm going to say is that you really need to watch your back.

I also realized that there is a possibility of more than 1 ending. Reading through the secret achievements for the xbox version (it never "crashed" or froze on me once, actually. Surprising from some of the people who worked on Stalker) I noticed that there are actually tiny side missions you can do in some of the non combat sections. One secret achievement that stood out had a description that read "Find the Truth", I think that's a big hint at a different ending/game changer.

Needless to say I'm starting my second play through tomorrow and trying to do things slightly different this time around.

On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give Metro a solid 8.5. The only things keeping it from being any higher would be that I found the game slightly short (though I did play for quite a few hours on end, there are 7 chapters) and there weren't enough non combat stations where you could buy items and interact with people.

I got my copy of FF XIII for PS3 today...played the game for 5 hours. Not sure what I should think yet. Yeah, it looks good but the in game graphics aren't THAT awesome. The CGI cut scenes look great but well...it's just cut scenes. Alas there's not much of a game underneath all the pretty surface so far. You walk straight forward on a path, no backtracking or anything...it's just forward all the time, so far anyways. No NPC's to have any conversations with. It's just walk, fight, cut scene....repeat. I do hope that it gets a little less monotonous at some point. There's not really much memorable within the levels (guess it's more like levels than anything else).
You know how you chat with your friends about the game you and them are playing and they ask you at which point in the game you currently are? I honestly could not answer that question. "Uhm...well I'm at that point in the game where you walk and fight and some kid is depressed and everyone else talks a load of cheesy crap'". Well, yeah...the problem is that that was the case in every level so far. So far it has not really been a story that I'd care to chat with my friends about...not that they would care because they hate FF anyways. Also, after 5 hours I have already experienced that the difficulty of the battles is not really well balanced. Some are just waaaay too easy...others are pretty hard. That usually does not bother me but in this case it just does not seem very well balanced. You get bombed with battles that are way too easy for hours and then all of a sudden you get bombed with battles that are waaaaay more difficult. That was a bit odd.

It doesn't suck by any means but it has not really blown me away either so far. I didn't expect it to be FF VII but so far it feels like there really is a lot missing in the game that made other FF games so great. And it seems like Final Fantasy doesn't really work as well as it used to without those missing elements. I'm glad that FF XV is supposed to have more traditional RPG elements again.

that's good!!! :) I would like to see it open up some more so I'm glad it will. If it gets less monotonous...meaning that the chapters looked pretty boring and monotonous so far, also the level design...then that could actually save the game for me
