They're kinda more influential to the world that Dutch elections, you have to admit it.

Oh come on. It's exactly this kind of crap that makes Americans think they're more important than anyone else. (No offence to the Americanos here, it's just the impression that I (and I think many fellow-Europeans and other non-Americans) get of 'the stereotypical American'.)

America's a pretty diverse place. Not all of us are fucking wankers, so I wouldn't be that quick to generalize.

That having been said, the media on this side of the Atlantic is piss-poor bullshit most of the time and really isn't worth giving too much credit.

This is very true.

Also totally un-awesome: I read in the paper that over 5 BILLION dollars were spent on the 'political campaigns'.

Couldn't hear anything, played the wrong parts because of it, had to use someone else's amp which had no mids at all (crackling mess of non-existent tone), left some vital equipment at home and spent the rest of the evening feeling ill from stress and panic attacks. :?

Don't forget to put your next gig in awesome thread then :)

Hate to sound biased, but it's fact that Obama put the most into his campaign, the Republican National Committee actually capped McCain's budget at $84 million. Obama had well over that.

Hardly. The drama really doesn't fit the scene, it seems. Besides, its socialist aspects arrived long before Obama (FDR, bailout bill, etc.).

(Not to say I supported either of the major candidates.)

Oh I know about FDR and the whole bailout deal. I didnt support the bailout from the get go. This country doesnt need socialism.

And it doesn't have it. Obama is nowhere near socialist on the political spectrum.

Nothing wrong with a healthy dose of socialism if you ask me.
