I fail to understand why they're releasing a second self-titled album.

I opened the topic because I wanted to laugh at the barrage of negativity that Killswitch Engage should inevitably evoke within a community of Devin Townsend fans. (Mission accomplished.)

Well I'm not on here as often as i'd perhaps like - and I saw it, and i'd have guessed a few people liked em. Just for the readily apparent minority that might be interested in what they've got. Don't like that? Tough, this is a general discussion board - not a devy topic.

I'm not really sure why they're going for the self-titled thing. Perhaps because most self-titled albums are the most commercially successful? (A la black album, iron maiden, etc). It's not something to aspire to, but that's what happens when you're signed to roadrunner for too long. They're definitely not the band I remember having on repeat on my old cd walkman. *sigh* :| They originally had a lot of potential.

It's difficult to take a band seriously when they've played warped tour and have more mop haired kid fanboys than alexisonfire. It's just become that predictable and formulaic - Intro, verse, break, verse, pre-chorus, chorus, breakdown, crescendo, chorus, outro.
