Gonna have to disagree with you. J-Rock/Pop is HUGE here. They fucking play it in elevators, for pete's sake! I shit you not. It may be "meh" to your friends, but it has not lost its popularity from what I've seen.

Wow I've never known that haha.

I think its more a "fad" in places like America than in Japan. It's an odd combination of japan being inspired by British punk and American rock, and changing it into there own, and then westerners (for lack of a better word :P) trying to recopy the adapted copy. I know this isn't always the case however :P
And Dir En Grey are awesome. Superb live, although for half of it I was like this  Nothing like I had seen before. The older generation of Jrock is much better than most of the 'newer' generation. My personal opinion anyway. :D Anyway, I'll stop being off topic now D:

1) I am friends with Timothy Schwader, and we were both stationed at Vance AFB, Oklahoma in the 90s.
2) Tim is credited for taking the photos of the band "December" for an album of theirs.
3) December had an album produced by Devin Townsend called "The Lament Configuration".

Yeah, it's a cheap way to be connected to Devin, but it's all I have.

You can connect anything indirectly to Devin Townsend. You can't isolate an idea, because if you could do that, the idea wouldn't exist!

Yes, basically everything is connected to everything.

But some of it might be apart by more than 5 steps.

Thread bump!

Macabre:

Macabre played in Australia for the first time last year.
One of their supports was Contrive.
Contrive that year was also the support of...
Devin Townsend!
