This kind of tattoo, I like. Lower back tattoos are tacky, and white pride tattoos are unnecessarily offensive. But this is an expression. It's Giger's expression, but this man found it beautiful enough to want it on his skin, where it'll remain until he dies.

Michael Scholefield had a reason for getting all his tattoos, he wanted to get his brother out of jail. And it worked pretty well, if you ask me! Except it was more of a help in aiding the people catching him than it was in helping him break out really..

Anyway. I'll probably get a tattoo at some stage, maybe even a few. But they'll be something that has deep meaning to me. And I'm waiting until I'm older, because I barely know what I want for dinner right now.

I don't like tattoos either (or piercings, the two seem to go hand-in-hand quite often). It's a personal thing of course, but in my opinion tattoos and piercings malform the body, rather than decorate it.

For a tattoo such as Acrids: as a piece of art, OK. Not my style but that's a matter of taste. As a tattoo: I still don't like it.
(Practical disadvantage is that you can't look 'decent' without long sleeves).

I like good ones. I really admire the skill that goes into creating them and I find that whole thing really interesting, but I'd never get one myself..I think I'm just weird and in the middle

Hmmm, I have a SYL logo tattooed to my shoulder, since it's the most meaningful band to me. I'd say that my tattoo is pretty justified. Had it since 2004, don't have any remorse yet.

And thinking about getting a "church of Max" (From Sam&Max The Freelance Police) tattoo on my shoulder, just because I love cartoons and zany humour computer games.

Yeah, I think I'll get an SYL, DTB or both at some point.

I just got done reliving my youthful days when I used to play Sonic & Knuckles for hours and hours. So awesome...

Isn't Knuckles so.. forgive the American terminology.. but AWESOME!!? Eeeeeeeeee I want to jump on his head!!! And I'm betting it's just a passing phase but since I was 11 I've wanted a tattoo of him. That's almost six years!!

But at the same time, tattoos should only be got at a sensible age. And I apparently haven't stopped growing yet, so it'd stretch if I got it now.

Knuckles could kick so much ass in those games...I would get a Sonic the Hedgehog-related tattoo if I wasn't such a wimp.

Why wimp? If anything I feel like a wimp for wanting one. I suppose it's not so bad because I'm a girl and it's a cartoon, but imagine somebody in the street going around with a tattoo of a small rodent from a tv show permanently etched on their body? Much as you'd expect they love him for having him drawn on them, it's a rather silly gesture out of context. I'd probably get it on my side, a little above my midriff and more to the back than the middle. I dunno though. That could change. I used to want it on my tummy before it occurred to me how quickly and frequently I lose and put on weight.

Tattoos can be stylish. It's a matter of what and where. I'd kinda like one, but on the other hand I hold a strange preference of keeping my body "clean". But it's everyone's own business, and I don't like how having an unoffensive tattoo can prevent one from getting a job, for example.

I'm totally with Biert, tattoos disfigure the human body IMO. I want to concentrate on the beauty of the (female) body, the skin, the nipples, the roundings, the tendons and muscles and the hair. The body is a piece of art in itself, tats are a distraction and art belongs on the wall as far as I'm concerned.

I don't have a huge problem with henna paintings though, because those are not irreversible and just temporary. Of course this a personal thing. Just not my thing.
