I know plenty (well, more than plenty really) of singers who sound far worse than him, especially considering he was playing live in front of god knows how many people. I'm seriously confused. Have I not listened to the right song? Have I not listened hard enough? Perhaps people's opinions on the HDR and SYL boards are just baffling me lately.

I find this type of vibrato appaling. Anyone who sings with this kind of vibrato gets an F in my book. Speaking for MY book and my book only. I hate fast vibrato, it makes me nervous, that's why I hate Mike Oldfield's guitar playing, he has the same type of vibrato, also that Francesco Fareri dude, awful. It's a beginners vibrato, lacking depth, feeling and emotion
Whoever sings this way, it seems to my clueless self he's trying to hide his poor sense of pitch, but I don't know really, everytime I hear it, I shrug and distance myself from its source

personally JT, i really didn't like it. for me the thing that broke it was the whole "husky" thing he kept doing, i'm not a fan but he did a fuckload beter than i could so screw it..... i did think he looked like a willy though
