*CAUTION THIS IS A FUCKED UP DREAM*

A dream last week-

I was at the top of a hill/mountain which was covered in violets. Spent quite a while there, with my model aircraft that jept drifting a bit because of the strong winds and altitude. Later on, my Mum was calling for me to get back to my cabin because some guys had popped round to say hello. So I got back to my cabin and there was SYL. Gene was telling me about how awesome the new album as going to be and Dev was making coffee.

"This part is strange"- I apologised to the guys because I couldnt chat with them any longer because I had to go and have a shower! Em...SYL are in your house!

I rarely remember my dreams, but let me tell you what I think aboot to help the Sandman knock my ass into slumberland...

I visualize myself as a backup guitarist in whatever Dev is playing. I'm onstage, backing up my hero, (and we're playing whatever song is on the CD player that I am listening to at the time, since I have to listen to something when I go to sleep, or the tinitus would drive me insane), and having a stupendous night. Sweaty, hot and playing awesome music. Helps me go to sleep a lot.

I've had several weird Dev-related dreams over the years. Here's a couple of them:

In one, I went to Dev's house which was on the side of a mountain which was next to a marina. We had some ideas for new songs and for some reason decided the best place to do this was out on the water. So Dev and I drove from the house to the marina, got into a small rowboat with a guitar and a miniature 4-track tape machine. After playing some guitar riffs and recording it, we opened the 4-track so as to turn the cassette tape over. All of a sudden we dropped the tape over the side of the boat and watched it float down to the bottom of the ocean. Meanwhile, Tracy was waving at us from the house (which was inexplicably now on top of the mountain) to come in for dinner.

In another, I was looking down at some old map, drawn in kind of a Lord-of-the-Rings style when it dawned on me that it was a map of Canada. I then found myself inside the map, walking around hills and forests until I came upon a house, which was more like a cross between a barn and a kid's cubbyhouse fort made of pillows. I went inside and it turned out to be like a maze, but very cosy with lots of nooks and crannies, and lots of secret passageways to hidden rooms. I found one room where Jed was drinking coffee and playing guitar. He took me to another room where all of SYL were sitting around talking and I ended up in a long philosophical discussion with Gene and Dev. Then Dev made himself a sandwich.

I've had a dream where I was visiting a flat in Vancouver and all the SYL boys were there. The only thing I recall clearly was sitting on the lounge looking out of the window, which was kinda narrow but the whole height of the wall. The breeze was blowing the curtains and outside there was a thunderstorm brewing.

The other night (my time) I left my computer on with Dementia streaming - waiting for the Dev interview so that when I awoke I wouldn't need to fart about getting it all going. I think they must have played some Dev songs (I kinda remember sorta hearing "The Fluke") as I dreamt that all of us who were waiting for the interview were sitting around on some low grassy hills just near to some industrial estate in fuck-knows-where...
We were all just chatting away in anticipation when suddenly Devin showed up with an acoustic guitar and started playing and singing for us, just walking among the groups of waiting forummers...

Whoah if Devin read all this... I bet he'd laugh his ass off!

I never realized how many people has Dev/SYL dreams. I thought I was just one of few who might have.

Last night I had a dream where i met the girl of.. well, my dreams!
I was at a party with a bunch of people I don't even know. Apparently they were my friends(even though i didn't recognize them)and this girl starts singing Man. I recognized it instantly and showed her my DTB shirt.
After that we were really hitting it off, we started discussing Devin's music and I mentioned that he's been working on Ki and 4 albums, yadda yadda.
Dream didn't last too long cause my alarm woke me up and now I have to go to work.

I had my first (i think) Dev dream the other night... it was so weird

It started off with me randomly being in London, and wanting to go on the London Eye but hanging from the poles instead of in a cabin thing... so i did

Then i cant remember how it got to the next stage, but i went out onto the street another day and there was a crowd of people, and i was like "Oh yeah!! Devs here today!!".... and it was the day where Dev does the thing that i did...

So i watched him do it... but he hung like a monkey, like this:



And with a really funny facial expression... one of his evil big smiles he does live

Then after that, we went off for some kind of music clinic... and he set a load of instruments up for a big jam... and he also sorted some cool video stuff out that was projected onto the walls, but the video was of him and what he was doing at the time he did it, but with a strange colourful effect...

Also, he set up a small stage for the Brass players... with some strange thin stacked speakers behind them (they dont exist, just in my dream), which he had made sound beautiful and crisp with his engineering skills...

Then we jammed, and its really annoying, cus i wish i could remember the song, because it was completely made up and new in my head, and it really was awesome... strange and intruiging... i wish i could actually write stuff like it in my concious state

I picked up an acoustic but started playing beats on it with my hands... which Dev seemed to like, lol, and he came up to me when the section of music had ended, and put the end of his acoustic guitar towards me, to indicate me to quietly tap the tempo of the next section which he started with a really cool broken chord, which i wish i could remember...

Thats about it... pretty cool though, but dreams are always hard to explain properly

I think I mentioned this in another thread, but the dream seemed to consist of me winning a bet against Dev, and getting £15 and a high five out of it... Do not remember what the bet was for though... It was rather strange.

Ye I had a messed up dream I was in a field and dev was playing.. and he spat a big green snot-spit and it got caught in his dreads... oh wait

IT WAS WHEN I SAW THEM FUCKING LIVE, HELL YEAH!

Yea man, was fucking classic. SYL lived up to everything I expected them to be, glad they got band of the festival cause Dev put one hell of a show on.

Well, im still a bit of a n00b to Dev and all his wisdom, i've probably only been listening for about a year.

So i missed Download (partly cus i didn't realise of the true amazingness that is SYL), but from the DVD, im sure it must have been sooooo amazing

Dev is easily the best front man of all time, he's so good live (from what ive seen)

Yea they always award band of the festival to the band that played best to the crowds, Hence why SYL got it. Cause they pretty much made download that year
