Talk about whatever you want to here, but stay correct

^What gs48 said!

I mean I don't give a shit about the particular diets (be it Atkins or whatever), but LCHF is pretty scientifically sound. I mean really... humans did NOT evolve eating bread and low-fat products. We evolved our epic brains because we ate shitloads of fatty sea food with loaaads of proteins. Not saying that carbs are bad... just saying that they are not necessary.

"But whatever works for you." <- AYE! :P

Proteins and nutrients derived from vegetables are far more important than carbs or fats, and you need all of them and sanity to survive in this world.

That was fourty years ago and it was because of bad politics, not better by science.

err whut?

I would think you would find the diets of our ancestors were quite low in fat. They would have certainly eaten all the fat they could get and would have needed it, their calorie demands to carry out physical work and keep warm would have required it. But the amount of fat available to them would have been limited. Very few people were able to eat meat frequently.

Also, if Low-Carb, Hi-fat is the key to being slim, how is it that traditional Asian food didn't breed a race of fatties? Why aren't people who live on rice and steamed fish great lardasses usually?

Carbs: how many of you eat a lot of carbs on their own? I mean without lots of fat? So potatoes that have not been cooked in fat or mashed with butter etc... or pasta on its own without a sauce full of cheese, milk, butter, meat, olive oil... or bread dry without butter?

My plan for tomorrow:

Take these:

And these:

And this:

And then some bacon/salami/chorizo/hot sauces etc.

And then make one FUCKING EPIC burger... using the two mini pizza's, the top one flipped upside down, as the burger bun.

My fun food times have no class.

Are you a vegetarian? I would be into your conjuration, only that I loathe sweet potatoes.
What kind of spices are you using?
I'm not a full-time vegetarian but I like to use bean stock, and spices and herbs. Cilantro, I adore. Can't get enough of garlic. And there's something about a dash of allspice or masala spice that really does it for me. :) For a dish like you're describing, maybe would be good.

No, I must admit, said soup did have some chicken stock in it. This particular one was a little bit impromptu when I noticed leftover veggies, so was just a case of grabbing what was in the cupboard - some chilli powder, a little ground cumin and ground coriander (cilantro)

Fresh chillis and coriander (cilantro) would have been amazing in there though!! Ideally, I might have put a bit of coconut milk in there too, but my bf had a really bad allergic reaction to something which was in a dish with coconut milk in a few years ago and has been put of it ever since!

^^ Coconut milk is probably an ingredient best used when freshly added, so maybe you can use some for your personal stock when you thaw and reheat.
