Bonus question for the musically aware: what's the meter in the song above? I counted on fingers and decided it's something like 5/4 (everything loops after 5 hihats, these are quarter notes I guess). I'm not sure though - trying to learn how this shit works.

I'm a bit rusty with theory, but I'd say 5/4 cut time - like the theme to Mission: Impossible, but at a quicker tempo.

Likely 5/8 (= 5/4 cut). That's how I'd transcribe it.

They could've done 10/8, though. Or 5n/8, where n is a positive integer. Up to them, but you're all correct.
