We do actually have a gun my dad has a license for, but that's well and truely hidden. They watched my house for months, watched my mum and dad pack their carboot to go on holiday, then watched me leave the house for a few hours, enough time to scarper with everything and there's nothing I could have done to prevent it.

My sister drove up from the south coast as soon as I managed to call her while my neighbour called the police and plied me with ciggies and tea, she arrived an hour later with her fiancée and stayed until my mum and dad got home at 2pm, my friend/photography tutor/driving instructor/blokewhatdrivesmetogigsoutsidetheM25 arrived an hour later in his Landrover Defender 90, my mum told him to get me out of the city for a few hours so he took me to a pub in the middle of the countryside for a few hours and we had a chat about what happened. I've come to terms with that whatever's gone won't come back (just jewellery and my laptop with photos of my Godson, coursework, portfolio and website work), everything's insured, the police have good leads, and I'm INCREDIBLY lucky they were not in the house when I got home. Ah well, life goes on!

I live about 10 minutes from the roughest area in London, people get shot all the time there. The gun's for non human purposes only...

I sat by the door while my sister went to the shops clutching a sushi knife quaking in fear though...had an idea that they'd come back to finish the job while they saw the house was "empty" again and try to get into the house the same way, so I'd cut their arm up proper. Or something like that. We've changed all the locks and forementioned car guy is sorting us out with CCTV, just because I've never been robbed before (apart from a CD player when I was 14 in school), my mum can see that I'm too scared to be in the house alone, so putting cameras in will give me peace of mind n all that. Sleeping in the diningroom at the moment cause the livingroom and my bedroom were the most trashed/emptied, and my bedroom's my private sanctuary, so my mum's going in tomorrow to take out anything that would make me think about it, like my remaining DVDs (Throw away empty boxes, I'd rather start again than get all upset to discover a DVD was taken from the box), the power cables and boxes for stuff that was taken, tidy up (the drawers were all emptied and strewn about, stuff thrown off shelves), clean my clothes that were trampled on, and stuff. Sounds weird, but I've got an image of looking at each room how I found them one by one running through my head constantly.

Wow Lettuce, that really is horrible. I feel for you, I really do. One of the houses I lived in was broken into 3 times I think. Lost some pretty sentimental stuff, that's always the worst. Just keep people around you, they should make you feel a little more at ease at the very least.

I hope you can get the best out of the situation though.

Sweet jesus that fucking sucks! People are such fucking.. Ugh. Useless scum. Sorry to hear about it, Lettuce. Hope you're doing alright and are getting back to some slice of normality...

Similarly un-awesome: Someone tried to steal my bike and scratched all the side of it. So annoying because it was in completely perfect nick. And now the exhaust in particular is quite wrecked. I knew it would happen, but I've only been driving a week. :furious:

I never ask for much (I just work my proverbials off to buy £2.5k state of the art DSLR cameras to give to 16 year olds to sell for 50 quid)

So Devy playing a gig for me in my kitchen might just do.
