:? I don't get it. Is there a punchline?

That's ok, just hit him back the same way: AC/DC has been making the same album since the 80's.

pretty much yeah

iron maiden are cheesy, boring, nerdy, ridiculous and mind numbing. its like the least contemporary music thats still being made. who acctually listens to them and goes "YES! YEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHH!!! thats what ive been waiting to hear all this time! ". even the singer before bruce dickinson left coz they said the music they were making was crap. not that ive heard his music but id favour it over iron maiden im guessing.

i guess each to their own though 8)

Blaze Bayley, and he should absolutely be in the "just plain awesome" thread instead :D Awesome live energy (saw the new version of his band live a couple of months ago), he really made the small club feel like a stadium, and the 2h set feel like 15 minutes. Check out the new album "The Man Who Would Not Die", really good stuff.

You can hardly say that they create new or revolutionary sounds in this day and age. I just have a grudge against Dickheadson because of when he came onstage in Dublin with a Union Jack streaming from his anus, to be honest. It was a bit in-your-face especially considering the fact that the British well... enslaved... our ancestors... Although take from that what you will. I'm probably just a bit too nationalistic.

Well, I can't argue that point, but then again nor do AC/DC, Slayer, Joe Bonamassa, testament, Sabbath or anyone at all who plays death meta - doesn't mean they don't rock though.

As for the Union flag, he waved it in India, America, Australia, Argentina etc as well - i don't think it was a political point he was making. I'm always slightly surprised that they play the Churchill speech intro to Aces High when they play Germany, but there you go.

A crushing headache.
I hope to cure it with booze and some stand up comedy.

And a few generations before that, those ancestors of your ancestors enslaved many of mine. :P What goes around, comes around.

Un-awesome:
Having to peel and chop 5 kilos of onions tonight.

Oh yeah, and make about a dozen bowls of jelly... I guess the kids won't appreciate it if I drop some onions in there... maybe better do the jellies first.

I was just saying about the contemporary sound because of sj mentioning people loving it because it's original. I don't like any of those AC/DC / Slayer / Sabbathy sounding bands, they're all a bit generic and yelly for me. I love Rush and WASP and Testament-esque bands though. Bleh, each to their own. I can't say that the Trooper doesn't make me smile. :D

Yeah, it probably wasn't. People were really offended though. I was just a bit shocked at his audacity considering our conflicts in Northern Ireland are still ongoing, as in there are people still dying every day due to sectarian violence. I think most of the other post-colonial countries have gotten over their disputes by this stage.

I can't say I'm very well informed about that period in history... When was that?! This is relevant to the unawesome thread, by the way. I might ask our guest Norman about it, he's Scottish. He's also a really old biker, he's awesome.

My insurance not arriving. Fucking stupid assholes. I bought the policy Tuesday, they're meant to send confirmation and a temporary coverage certificate immediately after purchase. I really fucking wanted to use my bike this weekend. GAH.
